This is one of the game changing moment which will hit all the phone makers in India. If after sales service and hardware quality is good then i dont think it would be hard to penetrate the Indian market specially at this time when all the other manufacturer has a costlier price for old technology.
All the best Xiaomi ...

Not really a Moto G competitor because Xiaomi's MIUI is a quite weighty OEM even on 1 GB RAM. Try to use with all your social networking and calling apps and you'll see the difference in RAM usage as well as performance...

xiaomi is rising with sun shine other brands are closing like sunset i think its time to down fall for samsung they are enjoyed there success for couple of years now time is changing very quickly yesterday Nokia, today samsung are going to sleep bcoz they are through out customers gained more money by there brands no time to changing the brands, people not only create a brand to a company they also known how to through them to down so beware of people customer satisfaction is key to success in any organization.

neb, 15 Jul 2014This is a wake up smack for many big brands who still think... morei'm mi3 owner from malaysia
                  i'll tell u bout mi3 quality
the build is solid,no creaking, the button is good(better than moto g power button),not surprising since xiaomi always contract the hardware part to great manufacturer,eg: same factory that make sony product
overall the build is on par with samsung's i owned.
for software part, you be limited to miui, could be bad thing for someone, but can be great as well,my solution is,if you dont like miui, just install nova launcher,it'll look like any android device out there.

for your info, miui already enter android 4.4.2 for mi3,and all xiaomi device are supported as long as miui exist, for that alone, your 230 usd are well spend.

This is a wake up smack for many big brands who still think they can charge old ways for a smartphone. Game is getting more and more interesting. The only concern I have is overall hardware quality and very important post sale software support. I would compromise phone materials and looks but wouldn't not the software part. Lets say I got Moto E for my mum. For £90 is best you can buy in UK. Build quality acceptable hatdware is fine but what makes this cheap phone even better is optimised and new android iteration. I have tried cheaper Acer phones, huawei ascend y300, samsung, sony but none of this phone cut deal. Hope this announcment will make a dent and shake todays market even more.
