As for them getting to thin and snapping, they'll either be made of tougher & lighter materials (sapphire glass-like), or more likely materials with some amount of flex which will bend and not snap.

Easy ... moreSame with these laptops all the rage is sleek ultra books and good battery whereas thick heavy laptops are on way out.i would love to know ratio of how many folk bought normal laptop or ultra book/macbook air this past year..
With chips getting smaller more powerful and more efficient using thinner devices does not sacrifice battery..Most of folk i know are choosing thin laptop and using big computer for work.In fact most are using an iPad/tablet for that usage.
So i agree things will get thinner plus with a chance that Apple will sacrifice 3.5mm jack at some point will allow more room also..I suppose in the end it will be camera that determines thinness but that could be solved like the did the tv back in 80's i thing by turning it 90 degrees..so camera can have depth ten use a mirror at 90 degree angle to compensate.
I imagined since about 2008 using a phone as thin as credit card(won't happen)but its getting their.

Why wouldn't you want such a thin and light device?
Easy to hold, light in the hand and pocket, less likely to get damaged if dropped. Much more elegant.
Should be more of it, or more correctly there will be more of it from all the makers.
Thinner and lighter is the future folks. I for one am for it. As for those that aren't, you probably have 2 or 3 years to get used to the idea.
When one of the big companies brings out a sub 6mm thick phone, others will follow and everyone's tune will change. Your telling me that when Apple does it every iFan won't scream 'innovation!', and that the other manufacturers won't scramble to match?
I'm hanging out for a 3 to 4mm top brand phone!

Almost all the OEMs these days are obsessed with making slim phones. We have no slide out qwerty keyboard design phones like Nokia E7. I am ready to compromise thickness for a slide out landscape qwerty or a camera centric phone with a huge sensor and a Xenon flash.

only .5mm and battery capacity down 250mah? weird.
actually i prefer this than s5.5 in term of design because of no camera bump
but the battery is the bad thing whereas s5.5 has 2300mah

5.55MM would be the unintentional flexible screen if placed in the back pocket of denims
if 5.55mm is true then i would expect the user guide to you void your warranty if you use a screen protector
5.55mm is the oppposite of a selling point for me
