AnonD-73055, 28 Jul 2014As the image density will be over 300dpi I can't see why it... moreLOLOLOL THE SGS3, stop telling jokes i can see the pentile on the GS3's screen about 50-60cm away, even compared to the One X 720p RGB screen i can notice right away the ugly pixelization inducing pentile.

Anyway they will probably reuse the GS3 screen in this thing knowing Samsung...

So far specs suits me perfectly.
    4.8" screen - check.
720p resolution - better for the battery - check.
Internal 32 GB memory - more than enough, no need to expand - check.

Really not hard to see the logic behind this, is it?
Samsung announce a 4.8 inch phone with fingerprint scanner, non expandable storage but rather than be 16gb it is 32gb. 720p display but still a higher ppi than that of the iPhone. The timing of this reveal only provides further evidence Samsung see's this device as a competitor to the 'smaller' iPhone.

The rumoured 'Prime' will be a direct, premium competitor to the larger iPhone. Samsung are covering both bases, ensuring they have a build quality that matches Apple's as well as, most likely, a more feature packed phone, with higher specs.

Simple marketing and simple business decision making. Really not that hard to understand so stop bashing it.

Still higher resolution than iphone 5S!!!!!! This product is only supposed to match iphone 6 spec, maybe at much lower price level.

Next Sammy will release Galaxy Beta, Gamma,....etc.

Sammy keeps on pouring the market with tons of useless devices.

Samsung do not want to release the Galaxy S5 Prime to Early,so they are releasing the Alpha version with a Metal Body an to Check out if its worth Switching to Premium Build phones an see if they will become successful or not,its the Price of the Alpha phone that consumers will be keeping a close eye on,will we still get a removable battery functions on the Metal Built phones or not,as thats one section were Samsung are winning but to lose that an the price of the Alpha phone to High,it might not be to demanding phone

As the image density will be over 300dpi I can't see why it would be a disadvantage.
My GF has SGS3, and I have One M7. I can't see the difference in image sharpness (and yes, I've gotten my eyes checked recently).
More pixel density is pure marketing. A magic of numbers to play on you wallet, one could say.

The real disadvantage is that with growing number of pixels the SoC has much more work to do. And the effects are invisible, so it doesn't make any sense.

I personally think Samsung got it right this time.
This baby is going to be real killer. :)

720p for a 4.8 amoled screen is good enough,i just hope it has an excellent processor and at least 2gb of ram... then it is reasonable to buy it.

Awww...I thought it was going to be high-end... :( But I understand why it may be middle-class: Because of the metal design and materials. It would probably cost too much to manufacturer each unit (But that's just my theory).
