Anonymous, 02 Aug 2014Chen and BB Market Research needs to get a better grip on w... moreThere will always be a market for a Physical QWERTY keyboard by BlackBerry and only by BlackBerry. No Other Company can match a BlackBerry designed QWERTY Keyboard Bar None. FACT.

What BlackBerry is providing is CHOICE. They offer a full range of Full Touch and QWERTY devices. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

In return, we get the most "Innovative" and most Technologically Advanced Smart Phone on the planet, called the BlackBerry Passport. Uniquely shaped with a touch sensitive keyboard that can also act as a mouse if need be. BlackBerry currently has no competition for this device. This device is also patent protected.

BlackBerry will grow based on its Innovations, something both Apple and Android Manufacturers forgot about years ago. High End Hardware Specifications is not innovative. That's what Android would like you to think.

AnonD-125902, 03 Aug 2014Really? "Well received in Indonesia"? No way! Mos... moreThe Z3 was meant to attract people that use iOS and Android, not necessarily people on BB7. If my estimation is correct, the majority of Z3 owners came off other platforms.

The Z3 should be considered as a hit in Indonesia. Its also been well received in India too. This is just the beginning, because John Chen did say he will only continue releasing the Z3 in other countries if sales were good. Well, they've been much better than expected.

Hence a newer LTE model for Europe and North America is coming with upgraded screen, ram, CPU etc., It will either be named Z3 or Z20.

iOS is a failure in itself. Its too old, lacks a Filesystem and you cannot attach pdf's to an e-mail, not to mention pictures. There's major flaws in iOS. It did its job in 2007 to 2010. But that's about it, while everybody moved on, Apple is still dragging iOS along.
BlackBerry 10 is far more superior. You only need a BB10 device for work and play. Hands Down.

Hi I am a businessman and I keep changing my handset every year early I was using Nokia then tried blackberry 8520 for 6/7 months thereafter i found difficult to match my requirement I switched to iOS and bb curve 9300 3g together. after some time bb came with z10 last year which was too expensive and price slashed this Feb for short period as I bought the handset people were surprised to see me with z10 . Today I read every news update of the bb and I wish my best luck to john Chen for doing excellent job in this crucial period now im buying z3 this month. I am very happy with bb service

But I do think it's a great one. I certainly like it better than IOS.

My bro wants one. Some of my close friends already bought it. Some of my colleagues in my office've bought it. I've seen several random people on its first week of sales using it already.

Some of them came from BB7, some sold their Android.
They like it cause of the big screen, Android capability and great battery, just like what JC said.

But I think BlackBerry should now concenrate on camera all needed apps r available, great os and BlackBerry logo is con on it. As we can see microsoft with a stupid os gained good market shares becoz of its camera quality so now BlackBerry should make great camera phone for picture lovers. I m with BlackBerry

foxconn and bbry have a five year deal. so not likely bbry would switch from that for that line up.
the N Am Classic is being produced by another entity a legacy one from pre foxxconn.
                                imo foxconn deal is stable.

Blackberry devices are brilliant devices, just because the company struggled a little doesn't mean we should just deem it unable to re-innovate and re-create something that is good. My whole family moved to Blackberry and all 7 of us love it. I've sold the new Blackberry phones to over 30 customers who were not Blackberry users and they all swear by their new BB devices. BB10 is brilliant and Blackberry makes real phones the sad thing though, is uneducated people like yourself choose to not give them a chance.

The Z3 is a step in the right direction as BB apparently finally realizes that only offering premium devices at premium prices will not win them market share.

His idea that there's still enough of a market which wants a physical QWERTY keyboard is a flop. You think the marketing machine that is Samsung would have stepped in with their own model by now if they though there was a significant market?

They need a good, midrange phone with better CPU to handle intensive games. The display is fine.

They need to come out with a new flagship to one up their Z30. Size is fine, they just need to match Samsung, Apple, Sony in terms of memory, processor capability and quality camera. Aside from the camera, not because the Z30 has any problems with memory or running applications, but because people (most people) expect a top spec phone for top dollar.

Many people aren't so sophisticated about their smartphone purchases (most techies I know are included). They only look at the specs and performance, so if the next Blackbarry flagship isn't in the top 5-10 for each of the benchmark tests that GSM Arena runs when they review a phone, people just won't buy it.

Now, if you're a heavy multimedia user the Z30 will get the job done but it wouldn't be my first choice.

However, if you need a phone that seamlessly integrates your meetings/appointments with MS Outlook and Google calendar and want the most sophisticated search contact and notification functionality and secure OS available then you should go with either the Z10 or Z30. No other phone running Android, WP or IOS comes close.
