I got the 4.4.2 on my LG Optimus G in Portugal about 1 month ago via OTA. It´s exactly the same specs on this post except the Software Version that is
            E97520a-EUR-XX.
The mobile is faster that 4.1.2 and in my opinion everything is great with no bugs. Just missing the knock on...

and LG has changed learnt from their past mistake,
ONLY LG provides THE LATEST ANDROID VERSION EVEN ON ITS LOW END PHONES LIKE L3-II, L5-II out of the box.
which other can't do to their Low end phones.

wut, 02 Aug 2014Who cares about an aging flahship LG? When you should've up... moreIt's actually quite nice that they did this.
Also, despite what the number "trickery" may sound like, the truth is this device always has all versions of Android ever since it was released (it started with ICS, then had JB and now has KK).

One can never forget that this ROMs have an LG overlay that pretty much changes the whole Android experience, hence (because of this overlay) it is questionable if you would get much difference between 4.1.x JB (the one it had) or 4.2/4.3 JB (the ones they skipped).

Sure, I can get you it is upsetting to not get those version when you are running stock Android (things will be missing and the experience will be affected), but in the LG overlay everything was always there...

Give credit where credit is due.

Actually, like @supernatural already said (and unlike the article text), this KK version (4.4.2) has been officially available across many countries for nearly one month.

If you are in Europe and still hadn't got the update, then you must have an operator phone and need to contact your operator (the one from which you bought the phone) to complain over the lack of updates. Being network unlock doesn't change in any way this fact, if it's an operator phone then the operator must make available his own version of the firmware.

Who cares about an aging flahship LG? When you should've updated to 4.2.2 and 4.3 you didn't, and now you release a bugged 4.4.2 after all?

In it's glory years, people had to use this device with the same old 4.1.2 why care now?

Best option is to buy a not too expensive phone with good hardware specs and root it yourself. Setup a stable ROM from XDA and you are good to go.
