Carol, 03 Aug 2014You do realize that you don't know what you say, no?And you do realize that silver does in fact corrode pretty easily, which for this matter wouldn't be much of an advantage.
Thats a scientific fact.

That's a purely subjective statement, that is.
(personally I don't think any currently available smartwatch looks any good, bar maybe the Moto360, and even that wasn't quite as good as we were led to believe by prototype shots, but that's just me)

That is what you get when you choose LG over Samsung. I am not saying that they have bad products but really, why is the G Watch better than the Gear Live? The Live is made of metal, is arguably more beautiful, has an Super AMOLED screen with a much higher resolution, has a heart rate monitor, also they have a past in this smartwatch industry (and you can see the results^^). Why would you choose the G Watch? Brand? A little bit more battery? Why? This is a hardware problem, not a software one. Bad quality connectors... I still cannot understand why AndroidAuthority gave the G Watch a higher score than the one for the Gear Live in their review!

LG, be more generous to your product reliability!
Use precious metal such as Silver & Gold to plate the terminals.

The most this will do is just slow down the corrosion process. When skin makes contact with 2 dissimilar metals (I.e. The charging pads and the watch buckle) and there is a salt bridge (I.e. Sweat), this creates a galvanic cell, which creates a current through your skin and causes corrosion. Obviously it'll be at a slower pace than if the pads were actively charged.

gimmicks, crappy manufacturers, no proper beta testing, and greed.
What do we expect from consumer products anno 2014?

It makes sense and the guy at LG who came with the idea should get a pay raise....although the chemical reaction of copper and sweat should continue regardless of electric current... albeit at a slower pace.
