very good move , I switched from Note 2 to Nokia Lumia 1520 , never regretted ! windows OS is simply awesome.

The minimalistic design and lightening fast and with 8.1 upgrade it blows android out of the water . Glad to see different variants in design , Nokia Lumia is premium stuff , but we need some more selections in design .

Hesht, 07 Aug 2014Actually, no. The issue isn't with the OS, it's with the cu... moreDon't blame just the customers. I have a 1520 and I love almost everything about it. And you are right, it does have the apps people use MOST. But A LOT of people also want the ones they don't use most as well. Which are currently available on other platforms.

I for one miss my android and iOS games and still play them on wife's S4 and iPad. And those games are NOT available on Windows Phone. So people have legit reasons to not want to switch to a Windows Phone.

Lets hope they also release a flagship winphone that has as good specs as the upcoming note 4. One note with stylus would be very nice indeed.

Dnt understand why so many people are complaining that HTC8S will not received the windows update? Its not a flagship model- how many non-flagship/ midrange Android models receive the latest updates? Has all the old iPhone received all the updates?

M8 would be a good phone to look out for

Although I am a Android user- but I think Windows 8.1 is very good and stable OS

Vendhar, 07 Aug 2014Awesome, HTC flagship with Windows phone 8.1.Good strategy ... moreManufacturers are choosing Android for their O/S so HTC pays Google a fee to use Android.

Blackberry and Apple are the sole users of their own O/S
                                  Blackberry and IOS repectively

Samsung and HTC have already made a Windows phone, Nokia produces the most Windows 8 phones and pay Microsoft a fee to use the Windows platform

Android is the most used OS, and as handsets are picked up by networks an so subsidised by them

The WINDOWS HTC M8 has according to (Mi 4) aka my source
Gsmarena has been picked up by the USA CDMA network Verizon

                                  http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6074&idPhone2=6227

If the Windows version HTC One M8 competes with the Lumia 930 and the original ANDROID HTC One M8.

Unless picked up by your network availability is off contract.

Will a network offer both Android & W8 version if the same phone?

Anyways, it is not problem with the OS too. Is up to the OEM to update their drivers with the hardware of a particular phone mode. HTC is just not giving a damn about 8s since their app has compatibility issues with WP8.1. Just like on Android, Samsung is not giving a damn to those older phone models even when Google released the latest Android.

Did you know that most people who don't want to buy a Windows Phone's main reason for not buying one is their belief that it doesn't have the apps they use most? Until recently a lot of people I knew didn't buy one because they didn't think it had an Instagram app, reason being that it was said ages ago and I never used one so they assumed there still was none. People, as a whole, are idiots who don't bother to research something and make decisions based on what's been shoved in their face recently, hence Android and iOS being so dominant.
