In most large corporations, whether it be American, European, Asian, etc, there are foreigners working there. Even Samsung has been poaching Americans for its chip business. This is obvious to anyone with a bit if sense.

The CPU is a fair point, much more efficient, you can stick to that stronghold.
As for services, in Samsung you are getting services too (they provide alternatives to virtually every other Google service).
If you really must compare the two phones, what really sets the S5 apart from the iPhone 5S (other than the Android advantages over iOS) is the sheer amount of sensors it packs, great *replaceable* battery and reasonable price tag.
The iPhone 5S has to it's advantage the much improved ARMv8 CPU, more compact size (an often forgotten reason) and premium build quality. All else is being done elsewhere (Android) and often times even better than on the iPhone -- and for a more reasonable price too. WIN-WIN!

django, 13 Aug 2014iPhone is not about specs... their lower MP camera gives... moreTrue about performance but not right about camera.Tests show that iPhone 5s loses in camera comparison but in performance iPhone 5s is amazing.Just watch game performance comparison betwwen iPhone 5s and Galaxy s5.Unfortunately iPhone 5s has a small display and that problem is gonna be fixed in iPhone 6.I hope apple cares more about iPhone6's camera too.

It doesn't matter any more what Samsung galaxy alpha is made of. I'm just wating for the new i phone to come on the market. Say no to plastic. I've to say apple is apple.

I think samsung should improve its branding. People still don't regard it as a luxury product. When I use a samsung product, I see it as a mass market product with high-end technical spec but not a premium brand.

Very few electronic products today, much less mobile phones, are sourced entirely from a single country. The Galaxy S5 has American CPU and GPU, Japanese RAM,Dutch NFC receiver. Even the hyped up heart rate sensor is American, not Korean.

And you most likely have an American Desktop OS (Microsoft / Apple)
You most likely have an American Chrome Book.
Your Samsung most likely is running the Qualcomm SoC, which is based in America.
Even when you post at GSMArena, the machine you use have most likely something to do with American.
So please do not bring your hate of Apple on America. Without them, you won't be commenting on here!

Good move sammy.....iphones biggest advantage is its build quality and sammy is gaining on it...i have been a iphone,nexus 4,xperia z1 user.....but now i am on galaxy s4 and believe me its a great experience...there is something about samsung that makes the experience complete..i know its plastic,touchwiz sucks...but overall i must admit galaxy provides me with the best experience...i will never evr switch to another phone besides samsung again....i respect apple for its design and software but i think sammy is doing great ...it is the leader in smartphone race and there is a reson it is....definately gonna buy samsung galaxy not4 or alpha....
