darkgamer, 02 Sep 2014Under performing,????? It blows the snapdragon 801 out... moreOk so lets call it underwhelming then. 720p, no card slot, region locked, cheap looks. How to compensate for all that with a too powerful chipset? Maybe you would like a smartphone that is all chipset but most of us wouldnt find that very practical.

The Alpha display is not acceptable by todays standards, just look at a Galaxy S3 display and you will say "imagine we used to think this was great". I know the Alpha improves on the crosshatch patterns with its newer Pentile pixel layout but that alone will not perform miracles.

jax, 02 Sep 2014As i can see from the picture, CPU is Arm v7, so no 64-bit ... moreRunning 32bit OS or apps on a 64bit CPU will return ARMv7 architecture. Same on PC, if you install 32bit Linux or Windows on an AMD64 rig it will always report as running on x86 architecture. Obviously this app does not exist for ARM64.

It blows the snapdragon 801 out of the water. And the GPU which is even more powerful than adreno 330 in offscreen really gets around 2 times the framerates on on screen due to 720p. I would not even think of it as under performing.

In fact, galaxy alpha is currently the most powerful android phone. That's about to change tomorrow though with note 4 and exynos 5433.

it's just a bogus 64 bit SoC on a low end phone. if samsung wanted an authentic 64 bit SoC they could have included it in their phone gallaxy Alpha. Now, it will be a trend of extinct 64 bit. at least in iphone 5s helps certain apps.

This will blow the iPhone 6 out of the water. Sad really. The Note 4 with three-sided YOUM display and iris scanner is what people are really waiting for, though.

WHAT??? It's already under performing for a "premium" device, and now there's a lower-end version? Yet still with 64bit? What's the point? And 720p is soooo 3 yrs ago. You know this Samsung, you set the pace remember? It's iPhone6 rivalling prices, with absolutely no fan base. Good luck with that.

A very misleading title. Its not just a "A" series phone and it's not a lower end Alpha phone
