Pls am using at&t huawai u8665. When I try updating it says UR UPDATE WILL BE SENT TO U IN 48 HOURS but the update has never been sent ....please do something about it for me please ....I will be very greatful ..Thank u.

Still that is the wrong approach to the issue. Instead of just detecting and nullifying the device upon infection, the right and proper way would be to remove the issues by patching the holes -- thus preventing the device from being void of usefulness.

So, they don't update olfer models, they actively accelerate their obsolescence.

I am still really concerned with Android security issues. Just cannot buy a Samsung S5 etc as they cannot guarantee the security of the device from hackers and malware.

What I can tell you is this: for everyone else KK is definitely better than JB in every regard (for instance project Svelte made KK much lighter on RAM), this not even going into the new things that got introduced with KK such as the revised notification center.

I am not an Apple Fans, but it is a disgrace after a year still less than 25% phones are on Kitkat. I use moto G.
I will definitely open to try iPhone.

Samsung is too selfish to upg... moreS2,NOTE 1 are 3 generations old now. Getting support upto 4.1.2 is justified.
S3 is 2 generations old. Getting 4.3 is justified.
Samsung is still better than other manufacturers like LG/HTC?
BTW I have LG G which has 4.4.2 now, which LG shocked me by its actions.

Props have to be given to Apple in this regard. Devices bought remain relevant for years, maximising their usefulness to the owner. It is also why they retain a lot of their value in the second hand market.

Miserable. This is the situation 10 months after Kitkat released. With android, a huge majority of the phones don't get any update at all or get just one. One of the pitfalls of open source. Windows and Apple are certainly better in this respect.
