14 September, 2014

Well a) I'm happy that EE is supporting this, meaning their commitment to better coverage and service.
b) better coverage for countryside and certain town/city black spots
c) all round no downside to this tech being available.

Thank you ios8 and EE for your support for bad network areas.

NotePro, 14 Sep 2014At the end of the day the routing process may be different ... moreThis would probably be rarely used. Would have been useful when I use to live in a townhouse where I would get no reception. Now I have great service in my new home. I think wifi calling would be useful in a rare situation.

Cenas, 14 Sep 2014Not exactly. And the callee doesnt know the difference. Sounds like the beginning to moving all GSM (2G) to UMTS (3G), LTE (4G) or in time ? (5G).
But "I use the service often to call home from another country for free". How? Not even the just announced version of Hangout supports free calls from Hangout to GSM except in the US if I understand correctly.

With WiFi calling it's like your calling from your phone using GSM, the called party will not see the difference.
