Considering that 95% of the population does not even wear a watch and think people who do are old or stupid do. I am refering to the early 20s demograpich. Unliike most people my age, I actually wear real watches, mechinaical ones. You know, that old man piece of jewelry you have to wind and that everyone thinks is something silly to spend lots of money on.
My point being is that apple is playing catch up with samsung, and is marketing It towards young people who dont even wear watches. Or the ones who do that only wear one for "fashion" and not for the purpose of telling time.

This $5000 watch will sell as much as a Vertu or any other diamond-covered phone will - not too many pieces.
The difference between this and a $5000 Rolex is that the Rolex doesn't get outdated in two years time.
