Hey, it has a big screen. That's all everyone wants so it will sell well. Who cares about removable battery, ARMv8 instruction set, Qi charging and generally features that will actually be useful long after you buy the device.
Big and shiny rules the day and actual long term useful features get left behind.

More old processors?
32 bit processors won't be able to use the 64bit code in Android L that gives them 20-30% performance increase for no battery cost.
This goes for all 32 bit flagship devices (GS5, One M8, etc) as well.
