Will wait for O2 preorder, want a Silver Mint which should be a pretty cool and unique colour. I also think O2 will sell it with their new 20GB data plan for 48£/mo with no upfront, like Galaxy Alpha.

£28 a month free is for z3 compact- £38 a month for the normal z3 unfortunately

That would be an amazing price for that phone, unfortunately it's incorrect. The Z3 starts at £38 per months, it's the Z3 Compact that starts at £28.
At £38 the Z3 is too expensive on contract, it won't sell well at that price. Shame, because it's a decent phone, but it ain't worth paying that much for.
