Cenas, 28 Sep 2014At least you can disable the apps you don't want. Even if ... moreIt is not about disabling the apps you don't need which by the way are BLOATWARE.

First there is the doubling of these App
Second the Apps you require are different to the apps I use or require, to pre-install these is Apples domain, no customisation

Third we will be downloading apps anyway GOOGLE needs to wait! APPS are from Google not Apple App store or Window Phone App.

Fourth a phone should only have shortcuts for the phone features, 10 pre-loaded apps are more than enough

Disabling the apps still leaves the icon on the home page and in some cases it is a contract phone the network adds its own apps.

It takes 24 apps to fill an app page on my phone, therefore if 22 of those are pre installed you can see that as it is now a whole page, Google is getting its cues from Apple

I want to install the 10 Apps myself not told.

The phone is partitioned with a 2Gb limit for both PRE-INSTALLED and my downloads most of which can't be moved to the internal SF card

It make no sense whatsover, Google phone, Google app
A very bad move

This is all because of the China market, with huge Android penetration and without Google apps on Android phones. And the OS is free... Well, take it or leave it China! But... What will be with CM roms?

Microsoft did that in earlier years with windows forcing PC vendors with pre-installed Windows OS to install IE.

I think it's normal for a company to try and capitalize their investment in something they give away. For free.
Don't like the apps? Disable it. Problem solved.

It's not a question of the usefulness of Google's apps, it's the fact that THEY are deciding FOR their users what they should have. They have also done this by eliminating SD card slots from their phones. Again, the point is the lack of user choice - it has nothing to do with the potential problems with SD cards or their usefulness. I will buy devices that maximize my freedom to choose. Google's "We know what's best for you" attitude is making them too much like Apple in my opinion.

preload as many apps as you want, but not as system app, let the users choose what they need and delete(not disable) what they doesn't.

Even if you would uninstall them, it's not like you would have more space to install other apps. System partition is not accessible to downloaded apps instalation.
I love it when people don't know what they're talking about. It's like watching flies slamming their heads into a window.

When an app is not optional it is called bloat.

...while the youtube app is getting WORSE and WORSE! Most of the time I have to reload the clips 2 or 3 times before I see the movies like they should be. At first clip I get distorted black and white crap!

Improving one thing and ruining another, yeah that's the way to go Google. And now enforcing even more of this shit... I think that soon interest in Android will wane off.

I just hope more phone vendors start shipping Cyanogenmod as a response. It really is a superior and much cleaner and more straightforward for normal consumers than the increasingly proprietary bloat that official Google Android has become.

For all of those saying that Google needs to be rewarded for its efforts, please remember that Android Open Source Project was built on top of millions of lines of free code in the Linux kernel as well as millions of more lines of code from other hardware partners in the Open Handset Alliance and elsrwhere. It was never an all-Google affair. Google is already taking a 30% cut on all Play Store sales as well as selling all that data it collects in you to advertisers.

                                        Oh Yes!

This is to push Google's new way of tracking you, through any of their apps which are open in the background.

It will improve the way they push products on you and it will make the information they sell about you more precise.

                                        Now you know why...
