Actually I personally am not as concerned about the battery run time. If it weren't for the removable battery in my 9810, I would have been stuck several times when my phone crashed or froze. The only solution was to remove and then reinsert the battery and let it reboot. Nothing else would work. So, no, I won't buy another BB without a removable battery. Too bad, the Passport is tempting.

come on Blackberry...non-removable battery??? And then you talk about saving the company, don't think that's gonna happen with your non-practical design mistakes.

There are middle aged businessmen who despite experiencing android and apple tablets at home, want the trackpad and trackpad only for their daily call making phone. Just one request, please make it a dual sim. Lose the stigma of people wanting to save money on calls, when you drive past a tech park with 10,000 to 20,000 employees and experience your 3G crawl, you'll know why a second sim from a not so famous carrier becomes a godsend.

I have the OS 7 Blackberry and I hate the sluggishness. But I love the built in keyboard and built in track pad and I MUST have those two features. The lack of the track pad is why I did not upgrade to a newer Blackberry. I am looking forward to this Blackberry Classic! I am going to perform routine maintenance on a car first, and after that I probably won't upgrade the BlackBerry Classic until after I have moved. Perhaps by then they will have gone down slightly in price AND perhaps they will add a removable battery. Blackberry company seemed to listen to the demand for a track pad. They might listen to the demand for a removable battery. What happens if the non-removable battery is dead? Time for a new phone?! I DON'T Think So. I am tired of disposable technology that is forced upon everyone.

Hopefully the fact the CPU isn't the latest and greatest will help keep the cost down.

10.2mm? I'm actually surprised that it is that thick.
Thought it were gonna be 9mm.
Now, if I were someone who's into cell phone anorexia, I'd say that this is a bad thing - but I'm not. I like that they actually don't make it slim. I mean, what good is a phone that cuts your pocket, due to sharpness caused by its 0.2mm frame?

Then, the weight. Wholla. Now that's heavy, even for my standards. Still, even if it rips off my arm while I'm using it, I'm still bought.

Thankfully, they kept the MicroSD-slot, and expanded the max. size of the card to 128GB, which is a reasonable thing to do.

The 8mp camera is, of course, not that much of a killer feature, but it also depends on how the camera was implemented. From the pictures at weibo, I'd say that they actually did okay with the camera.
(And the one on the front is okay, too, I guess.)

2 gigs of RAM, more than enough. I doubt I'll ever try to calculate Pi on a mobile device.

Non-removable battery; Meh. Okay. I can live with that. But I still don't like it.

What is kinda bugging me is the processor, it just isn't up to date.
Then again, we're not really sure, in what price category this device falls, and with a reasonable price, these are actually pretty good specs, with some spiking high, and others falling behind.
I REALLY hope, that this time, they won't mess things up, and I'm willing to pay around 250-325€ for it, but should the price be higher, I doubt they'll make a profit, especially when the Q10 is being sold for around 290€ itself.
BlackBerry HAS TO have a reasonable price.
                        They ARE struggling.
And they won't survive, if they are all too greedy.
Have the price outweigh the production and logistics costs by about 50%, and you're all set.

Dear BlackBerry born RIM, please don't fail me.

Cheers, the seemingly only person on my campus to own a BlackBerry ever.

Really disappointed there is no removable battery. Power users need this feature. I don't know what these guys are thinking. Have they ever heard of a focus group?

Non-Removable battery??!! C'mon BlackBerry, you're killing me here! I have been waiting to replace my 9900 (mainly cuz of the fixed-focus camera) and this is all you can do?! You removed the key feature that sold me on owning a BB to begin with! I would use my 9900 heavily, so much so that after a 6-7 hour use, it flat-lined. Swapped the dead battery for a new, & viola! A new 6 hrs of life. Meanwhile, I had the dead battery charging via independent charger. Took only 2-3 hrs to charge & now I have a full battery waiting to be used. Now this.... ugh.

So the demand was there for them to make it. Hopefully it'll reflect in sales.

Could overlook the processor speed and screen resolution for a 13 mp front camera, but not for an 8mp. Will continue to bounce around between others till they get it right.

The biggest upgrade over the Q10 is the toolbelt keys.

The best way back to full dominance is simply rebuilding z10 with 1080p display, 13mp rear cam with dual flash & OIS, 2.2mp selfie cam, BIS data plan with android app compatibility, 2700mah bat3 ($699.99)

This sort of announcements wont do well for BB when the market is excited about Passport! They need to look ahead on their strong points, no point in retro stuffs

Fine the difference between the q10 and this is not much, but to a hard core bb user like myself the keyboard and the track pad etc is all that was needed. I just wished it was lighter though, can't wait to get my hands on it!
