April security patch for the Essential PH-1 brings Bluetooth 5.0
The latest update for the Essential PH-1 brings the April security patch from Google. Additionally, the 127MB OTA update brings modem stability fixes, improved performance, general bug squashing, external game controller support, and Bluetooth 5.0 certification.

Bluetooth 5.0 brings support for simultaneous dual-streaming, extended range for compatible Bluetooth accessories, and twice the bandwidth of Bluetooth 4.2. Bluetooth 5.0 also prepares the phone for future IoT connectivity and improves location services.
The Essential Phone is already on the most recent version of Android Oreo 8.1.

It does have BlueTooth 5.0 on-board, but it is yet officially certified during its release. Without certification, u aren't able to use the BlueTooth 5.0 inside the Essential PH-1. And now with this update, users of the smartphone can finally use Blu...
