Our Motorola One Vision video review is up

The One Vision is the first smartphone from Motorola with a radically different design – one that departs from the circular camera bump around the back. The One Vision is also the first to use a hole-punch camera instead of a notch at the top of the display.

The display itself isn’t terribly color accurate, but maximum brightness is pretty good, and the contrast is automatically adjusted for viewing in direct sunlight.

This is a 6.3-inch IPS LCD with a super-tall 21:9 aspect ratio which makes it a little harder to watch the standardized 16:9 video format.

The phone itself is powered by an Exynos 9609 CPU built on the 10nm process. The phone runs Android Pie out of the box and is part of the Android One program. Performance is quite good across the board and it doesn’t warm up with extended use.

The hole-punch camera is a 25MP, f/2.0 selfie shooter while the main cameras are comprised of a 48MP f/1.7 camera and a secondary 5MP depth sensor. Powering the phone is a 3,500 mAh battery that’s compatible with Motorola's Turbo Charge, synonymous with USB-Power Delivery. We do wish the battery life was a bit better than what we saw in our testing.

We liked the One Vision's new design, but the placement of the rear cameras caused the phone to rock back and forth on when placed on a flat surface. We also found that the hole-punch camera is quite large and almost distracting, defeating its purpose in the first place.
