Samsung Wallet brings Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass under one roof

Michail, 16 June 2022

Samsung is clearing up its app portfolio by merging Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass into the unified Samsung Wallet app. The app merger process already started in South Korea last week and is now expanding to the US, France, Italy, Spain, the UK and Germany. We can expect more regions to be added in the coming months.

The new unified Samsung Wallet app can hold payment, membership and gift cards as well as digital keys, IDs, health and boarding passes and digital assets like blockchain wallets. The digital automotive key function will be supported on select BMW cars manufactured after July 2020 as well as several 2021 Hyundai and Genesis models. Driver’s license and student IDs will be supported at a later date in time. The existing Samsung Pass functionality will still cover password management and access to digital assets like cryptocurrencies.
