Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo stars in another benchmark
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo has an uncertain fate, but has gone on a resurrection path recently. Last July it was found in some benchmarks and now a year later it has surfaced again in benchmarks. This comes a week after getting Wi-Fi certification.
Going by the model numbers this one – G903F – is different than the phone that claimed the S5 Neo label last year. Either way, it promises a fresh Android version (5.1 Lollipop) and a Samsung Exynos chipset with octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM.
The Geekbench score places it above the Galaxy S5 with Exynos 5422 (octa-core CPU too but with Cortex-A15). It's still far behind the Galaxy S6 and its top of the line Exynos, instead it's the still unofficial 7580 chipset.
Even without the top-specced chipset the Galaxy S5 Neo G903F could provide a decent waterproof upgrade late in the game. That is if you haven’t bought the Snapdragon 805-powered Galaxy S5 LTE-A G901F already.
