The fun is over - Microsoft takes your free OneDrive storage away

Kaloyan, 14 July, 2016

Last November Microsoft announced it will end the free 15GB promotion for its OneDrive storage, the 15GB free camera roll bonus will end as well. The free space will be reduced to 5GB in the months to follow for all existing and new users.

It's time.

Surprisingly and ahead of schedule, Microsoft has started slicing all free portions of OneDrive storage - both the initial 15GB storage and the 15GB camera roll bonus. If you were among those to get 7GB free storage instead of 15GB, you'll still lose 2GB.

The unlimited OneDrive storage for the Office 365 subscribers is no more, too, they will now have to do with just 1TB.

If you have opted to keep your 15GB + 15GB OneDrive space last December, when Microsoft felt generous, then you won’t be affected of the cloud storage massacre kicking off today.

If you are a new OneDrive user, you will now get a permanent 5GB free could storage.
