Lumia smartphones removed from Microsoft Store homepage

Vince, 07 September 2016

Microsoft has dropped the link for Lumia smartphones on its Store front page. MSPowerUser.com noticed the change and it seems the company has decided to change up the menu structure around a month ago.

The link to the Lumia section of the store is replaced by "Education Store". The Lumia section isn't scrapped altogether, as you can still reach it by going through the Devices drop down menu.

Whatever the reason for the relocation of the Lumia section, it seems Microsoft isn't really keen on advertising it all too much. Could the company be preparing for a rebranding of its smartphone division altogether? The Surface Phone name pops in mind.

So, essentially, Microsoft partnered, and bought out Nokia's smart phone division, only for it to be killed in a couple of years?
