vivo also announces Xplay6 with QHD curved screen, SD820, 6GB of RAM, dual rear camera

The X9 and X9 Plus aren't the only new smartphones that Chinese device maker vivo unveiled today. Those two are its latest premium mid-range offerings, while the V5 announced yesterday neatly takes care of the lower-midrange and even entry level space. But what about the high-end?

Well, that's what the new vivo Xplay6 is all about. The phone comes with a 5.46-inch QHD AMOLED dual curved touchscreen, the Snapdragon 820 chipset, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, dual-SIM functionality, 4G support, and a 4,080 mAh battery with fast charging. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow underneath vivo's Funtouch OS 3.0.

On the rear the Xplay6 has a dual camera, with the main sensor being a 12 MP Sony IMX362 with 1.4nm pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, four-axis optical image stabilization, and phase detection autofocus (which should take 0.03s). The secondary sensor on the back is a 5 MP unit that captures depth information, and there's a dual-tone LED flash over there too. Taking care of selfies is a 16 MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The Xplay6 has a fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headset jack with a dedicated DAC and amp, and it boasts a full metal design as you can see.

The handset will become available in China on December 12 for CNY 4,498, which right now means $651 or €609. As always with vivo devices, it's unclear if this will ever officially be sold elsewhere. Like the X9 line, the Xplay6 will only come in gold and rose gold color versions.

Expensive as for a chinese, but on the other hand we cannot expect the phone with this look and this specs to be reasonably priced. Definitely one of the best phones of 2016, unfortunately hardly available outside China.

Nice phone, but what about support? I own the Vivo Xshot - great device, but no support at least. Android 4.3 and nothing more. Think twice on bye.

First buy and try a high end vivo device and later opine. Top devices with premium components, innovation and best hifi audio in the market. don't compare with an oneplus.
