Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge on AT&T may get Nougat update in a couple of months

Himanshu, 20 January 2017

If you are a Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge user on AT&T, and are waiting for your carrier to roll out the Nougat update, here's some news for you: the update may start hitting units in around a couple of months from now.

This information came courtesy of an AT&T representative, who revealed that the update is already under beta testing, and there are "very good" chances that the final roll out will happen sometime around "beginning of Spring."

Needless to say, don't take this time-frame as an official confirmation from AT&T as we've seen service reps getting it wrong many times in the past. Anyway, here's hoping that the roll-out begins sooner than later.

AT&T takes FOREVER to release major Android version updates. By the time we get Nougat on the S7 Edge, It'll be time to purchase the S8 Plus. So, a "couple of months" means nothing to me, because I'll have a new phone anyway. Whatever.

Spring for ATT to roll out 7.0 LAME. I moved to Android from iPhone. When Apple sends out an update, they didn't make 1/2 of the users wait for the update. Oh Well! I guess I'll just wait until SPRING! Still LAME ATT!

AT&T will never be ashamed of itself. Im waiting for the time that I can buy unlocked Samsung so I don't have to be a slave for this Carrier. Shame!
