Class action lawsuit in the works against Google for Pixel 2 XL issues

Vlad, 02 November 2017

Google's Pixel 2, and the Pixel 2 XL more than that, have definitely bin hit by quite a few issues since their launch last month. While the bigger model has had more problems, some Pixel 2 units did exhibit weird clicking and whistling.

On the other hand, various Pixel 2 XL phones have been caught suffering from burn-in, and even a "black smear". Google may get in a lot of trouble over these things soon, as a law firm is currently investigating whether there's enough to justify a class action against the company.

We're talking about Girard Gibbs, which incidentally is the same outfit that filed a class action lawsuit against LG over the G4 and V10's widespread bootlooping problem (that also affected the V20 and Nexus 5X). The same firm asked for $5 million from Motorola over poor customer service and unfulfilled warranty promises, and that suit was settled in September - with the company promising to "implement several customer-friendly improvements in the way it processes warranty claims".

So it would certainly not be the first tango for Girard Gibbs going against a big tech company. At the moment, it's only encouraging those impacted by the Pixel 2 and 2 XL issues to get in touch and talk to an attorney as part of a "free and confidential case consultation". Though if many people do respond to this call, it's pretty likely that a class action lawsuit will be filed against Google.

Edge screen is gorgeous to see and once you get a grip on in, it is a novelty to have

Yeah, clearly I was biased because I didn't love the Note. Oh, and you're welcome.
