Motorola Moto Z2 Force is officially launching in India next week

Victor, 10 February 2018

The Moto Z2 Force - Motorola's current flagship offer will finally be launched officially in India on February 15. The event is already being teased online and media invitations are being handed out. We have to say, however, the excitement is understandably pretty low, since the Z2 Force was originally unveiled all the way back in July 2017.

The Lenovo-owned company does have a certain track record of delaying its devices for the Indian market, but over six months is still a rather unprecedented and not exactly favourable scheduling gap. There is still no word on local pricing for the device, but we can only hope the number will be nowhere near the $750, or so, US launch MSRP, since quite a bit of time has passed and the Moto Z2 Force has been retailing for as low as $375 at one time or another. Plus, initial interest towards the handset has surely died out by now, with enthused early-adopters and Moto Mod aficionados more than likely going the import route already.

Speaking of Moto Mods, the only bit of info we do know about the India launch is that the company will be bundling the Moto TurboPower mod with the Z2 Force, regularly priced at INR 5,999, or about $93. Despite their limited reach and appeal in sheer numbers, the Moto Mods accessories and the ecosystem as a whole are the most popular and successful take on modular smartphone concept to date.

Besides snap-on extras, one of the Moto Z2 Force's other headlining features is its Shatterproof 5.5-inch display. The plastic material promises increased versatility when dropped, but is a bit more susceptible to scratching, so a screen protector is still a good idea. Other specs on the Z2 Force include a Snapdragon 835 chipset, up to 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, a dual, 12MP camera setup and a 2,730 mAh battery pack.

Don't go for this outdated product from Lenovo. This phone has low pickup rate from all markets around the world. We have to buy seperately motomod for photo enthusiasts. Why spend for such a gimmicky product from Lenovo? This phone was a failure aft...

This phone that I currently have is the worst phone ever. I'm not saying in terms of design, performance, or Moto mods (I currently have 4). The plastic on the front is coming off extremely easily and the front of my phone is ugly!

Indians are luckier than Indinesian. Better late than never. In Indonesia moto current line up just moto z, z2 play, g5s plus, moto m and some uninteresting products. No z2 force, nor x4
