Samsung J720F to launch as Galaxy J7 Duo

Yordan, 02 April 2018

At the beginning of 2018, a Samsung phone with the SM-J720F moniker appeared on Geekbench and GFXBench and we thought the phone is going to be called Galaxy J8 (2018), following the trend of unifying names that the Korean company started.

According to some code obtained by one of our readers, the phone will appear under the name Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo in India.

One of the images, the bootloader screen, reveals the first thing you’ll see once you power on the device. It has 16:9 ratio and 1280 x 720 pixels, meaning the Galaxy J7 Duo will have a regular HD display.

Other pictures show that the chipset will be Exynos 7885, the OS will be Android 8.0.0 with Treble support and most likely Samsung Experience UI, as seen in the kernel file and the system flash file.

The firmware version of the package is J720FDDU1ARCJ / J720FODM1ARCJ / J720FXXU1ARCB, but this likely isn't the final release that the phone will ship with.
