Found nothing wrong with my 5800 express its a super audio an video mobile,an for it being Nokias first touchscreen mobile,its a very good debut from Nokia,ust the web browser is one thing Nokia got to improve, an like most people really wanted i wished it would have been made with metal body instead of Plastic,but Nokia will learn from the 5800 to make the N97 a very good mobile

I have to say this. This phone is really great for a phone that costa half the price of the iphone. Besides the price, it is good at what it is supposed to be good at, and that is a touchscreen phone that looks like a phone, feels as a phone and works very well as a phone.And I do mean it. I'm not a keen fanboy of this phone but I do like it over the iphone. It has all the features and duly covers all of them out without any doubt, although I have to admit there are a few glitches here and there that can be annoying but not much. It may not have all the eye-candy features of the iphone but like I said before it covers all the functions well enough. The iphone on the other hand is just a piece of visual accessory (I mean the phone OS is fluid, fun to touch and use, multitouch support, and that's it). The iphone is more like having a Mac laptop but doesn't even work like a performance laptop like windows laptops. To make it more simple, the iphone is like having a gold jewellery or a rollex platinum watch just for show-off and no other purposes. I've used both touch phones for a month and here's my opinion. Neither phones cannot replace the phones that we have at present but we can keep either one as our second handset for fun purpose. the 5800 can be used for most of the times one-handed whereas the iphone can be used for less than half the whole time one-handed. Worst of all the iphone may look like a phone but feels like a pimped-up ipod but the 5800 may not look as good as the iphone and made of cheap plastic but it does in the end look like a phone and feel like a phone(It looks cooler and funky than the more refined-looking iphone, so it's definitely a phone for youngsters and they definitely are gonna like it. Very clever strategy, Nokia). It does feel sturdy. Other functions seemed to me a tie-tie for both phones but the camera and video Both phones have their own pros and cons but in the end I would rather continue having the 5800 and not the iphone as it definitely has all the day to day purposes needed on a touchscreen phone where as the iphone has definitely the looks as a phone and phone OS. I dont dislike the iphone cause I like all the animations and the fluid interface and the multi-touch. But seriously! Who cares about multi-touch anyways! It's just a gimmick to buy out customers crazy about it. I dont care at all like the multitouch thing cause it's stupid. And it maybe cheap buying it from At&t but hell expensive for unlocked. But in the end and I really mean it, I, and I mean I, would have the cheap looking but inexpensive and powerhouse-functional 5800 Xpressmusic. Dont get all mad and sensitive about what I wrote down but think twice or more before buying youself one of these. I admire all the novelties brought into the iphone caused it has arisen a new future for cellphones and it does speak out loud TOUCHSCREEN. But in the end its far from perfect. Whereas the 5800 is not a new PHONE, its just the interface which is new but believe me its gonna catch up really fast in the touchscreen phone competition because of the massive popularity of S60 worldwide but Mac OS is new to the phone OS and its worldwide popularity is limited and so it will definitely take its time. So to remind all you 5800 users is that dont get all hasty about selling your 5800 back cause its just the beginning for nokia to come back to world domination. I have n82 and it does have some sluggishness and hanging up but that's just part of it being a phone, believe me, but its still the best phone right now and at present I dont feel that any 8 mpx right now can replace this phone, not even any high-end touch phone. So I'd be happy to continue along with this phone rather than the iphone and xperia and omnia and touch diamond or touch pro or touch hd. Trust me, try this phone out and if you dont like it then I have nothing else to say but "NOKIA 5800 XPRESSMUSIC ROCKS!"

I owned tis phone(5800) for about a week & i must say this phone is a waste of money. The phone hang frequently when there's a incoming call, the touch screen is so unresponsive, the accelometer is too sensitive, the phone feel like a chunk of plastic & it was so badly build that there's gap appear in between the joining of the whole casing...

i purchased this phone few months bak..n i must say contrary to wt ppl r sayin bout this phone 5800 is fantastic...i cn say coz i've used many phones camera is amazin videos too gud...only part thtz prolly nt gud bout this phone is d games tht cum alonfg wid it..esp motor racing...accelometer is too senstive n derz no fun in playin da game...oder thn dat..music is amazin...very gud satisfyin experience i hd wid this phone vl tel everyone to buy..n in luks very sophisticated...atleast everyone gives a second luk...4m my side 4n half stars

So I guess it is not locked. But the thing is that I will be going to USA for a long time (around 4/5 years) since I will be doing my undergraduate courses there. So I will not be using my Bangladeshi sim on a romaing option in USA. Rather I will buy an amarican sim from there and use it. According to you I should not have any problem, isn't it? Thank you very very much for the help.

W... moreoh, this is the problem on the 5800 that shipped at 1st time. got problem from the earpiece as nokia use the cheap earpiece. just try find on youtube or google on how to fix the earpiece on ur own. or maybe u could go to nokia service center to replace it (it's free)

hmm, this is my comment in "....."
-Web browser: good but slow in touch control. "agree"
-Music: good volume level "the volume level is great"
-Videos: good when they work(lotsa bugs) " i never experience any bug, could you tell me the bug ?"
-Screen quality: very nice resolution but awfull under direct sunlight "yea, awful under direct sunlight"
-Software: Passable menu,very buggy with lot of freezing and restarts " again, i didn't experience any freezing n restart after i upgrade the FW to v20"
-Slow pic browser "yupe, so slow, need photoflow to make it smooth like iphone"
-HORRIBLE CAMERA at night,could be usable outdoor(but still lot of false colors) "yeah, bad camera"
-Touch response is ridiculous compared to Iphone "touch response actually is not ridiculous compared to iphone, iphone still much better but 5800 touch response is still nice"
-Themes are still build with Carbide...useless "no comment about this 1"
"for me, i would like to suggest this phone because it's a best phone for it's price range. application and games still sucks as s60v5 just come out not too long ago.. as touch response, don't expect the best like iphone but i satisfied with it. bug and freezing? i never experience any, my phone work just nice (upgraded to FW 20).. the only thing i don't like is battery doesn't really last long for me, always need to recharge the battery (well maybe i use it too heavily as WiFi, video, music, games)

I have a problem, i'm using the phone for about one week. When i on a call, the speaker volume goes high and low. Most of the time i have to put maximum volume in ear piece? Could this be a fault in my phone?

As a buyer is putting a handsome money on a phone it is best for him to know about the faults of that phone 'before' buying it rather than 'after'. It really helps to know about the drawbacks beforehand while making a buying decision

-Web browser: good but... morei had this phone 3 weeks ago and im very much agree with all what you have said, spe with the software and the video bugs.
so since you have an experince with this device let me ask you about the best type of video i can watch on it, because there is no video able to work on it in a good way except the MP4 but with a veryyy poor quality, so is there any other type i can convert the video to it to work and to give me a better resolution than the MP4 ?!!!!!!!

after 4 months of use 5800 i have to say a huge NO to the people who thinking to buy this phone i cant explain the problems about the symbian 5th but is too many and my english is not good but i think every body understand this: DONT BUY IT AND IF YOU WANT I SEEL IT

After 3 months,my long time review:
