My battery life is still okay after 5 years with original battery and no lag unlike Android phones!
If only Nokia Belle supported higher resolution screens, it'll still be relevant!

I'm using this phone for almost 6 years. My phone drop many time but still can function. last year my phone screen crack drop from motorcycle seat but still can function well. Only my phone memory card slot can't detact memory card. Screen change and memory card slot get repair around RM2++. I received a msg from Nokia that Nokia won't support whatsapp next year. feel sad. Camera wise good but no focus detacted.

... If the phone is not reading the sim card, it may be that it is'nt making contact, as the sim slot may have a gap. Try putting some scotch tape 2 or 3 pieces thick behind the sim card and the reinsert.

NOKIA 701 is the best I had ever bought. Its camera competes with IPhone's. VDO quality is xclent. It has FM transmitter which most of the phones lacks. With this feature you can listen to songs wirelessly in you car and as well in your home music system. Moreover it has two charging points USB as well as power pin. It also supports DLNA, if you have wifi connection and TV with wifi you can switch your NOKIA 701 and transmit your Photos, videos and music to TV wirelessly(great feature). There is lot more in this phone. I still prefer Nokia phones, though Nokia do not exist in the market. I request Nokia to bring your phones soon to the market with bombastic OS with which android may get obsolete. Thanks Nokia.

Probably the best phone i have ever used, i downloaded just the essential apps i use and it meets all my daily needs easily. Its reliable, well made, fast and i can use it for 3 days before it shows ow battery after which it will still run for another hour....
I also have a Samsung modern smartphone and have tried the Nokia 808, but i still choose to use the Nokia 701 as my main phone as it is comfortable in the hand and small enough to fit in my pocket - a great design. Software wise it is falling behind the times with the latest models but some of us just need the basics without having to give up a great camera, reliability, build quality, great battery life and a small size.
I just wish this was made with a faster 3G data speed and an auto focus camera and then it would be perfect.

701 is an excellent phone 3 years back when android is just evolving in the market. but it is the intermediate between feature phones and smartphone.

Beware these Apps:
Sadly, I have to report my phone has developed 'reboot' issue. Symptoms: every 4 to 7 hours, phone reboots, other times locks up with 'out of memory' error- only way out, remove battery for 10secs, then restart. I read a blog another user had same problem. The problem with the Nokia store (I have never been to the new 'opera' store) is user feedback cannot be modified once comment/ rating is created. Many users cannot warn others if an app is malfunctioning after a few days. So, this rebooting problem started after installing one or another of these apps-I don't remember- so I recommend to readers INSTALL one by one, try for a few days. (Those marked with X immediatly show 'tiks' with the 701) -Smart Notes Full(V.1.2), -X-QR Creator(V1.0.0),-Whatsapp(V2.11.609), -X- Swype(V1.0.19197), -X- Double LED Waves(V1.3.0) -Belle Extra Buttons (V4.0.0),-X-Thumb Nail Folders Ads (V1.6.0) -GPS Scout(V1.0.0),-X- Clipbook(Manager)(V1.1.0).
No more Nokia store? Fine, I will just keep using my phone with apps installed for a few more years.Note that since circa June, 2014, Whatsapp stopped working on my phone even after the 'upgrade to new version' prompt. Nokia service would probably fix this reboot issue, in a jiffy- we'll see, maybe in a few months.
South India users beware, regional language web pages not supported so characters appear appear as 'boxes'. Features I like about this phone, the lanyard loop- called phone tag in India (like employee name tag, with no chance of dropping the phone), that allows me to carry it around my neck, the built in voice recorder (could improve by saving files as YYyyMMmmmDDhhMM.nnnn.etc -where nnnn is the existing sequence number, yes, its nice to quickly view the date/time of recording), then, gorilla glass(not a single scratch on the screen, 3YEARS LATER!)

I use this phone many years. It is very good device, but skype doesn't want to work. And battery very fast discharges when I use internet. Touchscreen works excellent, if hands are dry.
