Had the phone since its release date. I bent the frame 5 years ago on a bike crash, still worked well, no issue apart from some small green mark on the screen. Changed the usb-c port 4 years ago, easy, few screws and a ribbon cable. Factory reset 2 years ago because it was starting to behave sluggish, after that worked like the first day. Last year and a half I used as my permanent hotspot at home so it was on and sharing internet 24/7. Been using it without case 4 or 5 years and fell maaany times. I managed to finally crack the screen 3 months ago. still working like a champ. I decided to replace this phone just because many apps I need are not supported any more (banking, shopping....)
I am gonna miss you OP2, you are a good phone, goood phone!

Bought this 4/64gb phone to make it a work horse, paid 60€ for it, bought a protective glass, a rubber protective case and a new battery, all in about 85€, installed LineageOS 17 (Android 10, the only stable flawless OS) so the app support is back and running. All I can say is for a 2015 phone it's running great, not the fastest phone but it's 2023 now, the hardware has started degrading over the years. Imagine how good this thing was back in the day

Best Phone.. Still running strong in 2023..

Only complaint is stuck with Android 6
Otherwise, this Phone still rocks ..
                Rick solid as a Rock
Nimble as a Feather & excellent workhorse

Only if, Getting those shiny Android alternatives were a bit easier... Have to part with this gem of a Phone.

I'm still head over heels for this design. The sandstone textured back + the chamfered aluminum sides looks so tasteful and premium. I wish smartphone manufacturers can create something as unique as this phone again.

My OP2 has been amazing for years. Released nearly 2 years before the Chinese National Intelligence Law came into effect, this Chinese company was leading the way in freedom. The specs still rival many phones, today. The phone has outlived multiple cases and the screen has survived 5 years or more of living life with me. No physical repairs were ever needed. The battery isn't quite as robust as it used to be, but I understand that could be resolved if I needed it to.

Sometime after the new phone smell wore off, I installed LineageOS to sever myself from the bonds of a manufacturer's product lifecycle and get security and feature updates long after the manufacturer lost interest - not something I could do with a carrier (AT&T, in my case) phone nor the Samsung phones that I had owned, before. How did I start? I watched the video put out by OnePlus, themselves, on how to unlock the bootloader and give myself root access. If it weren't for China's National Intelligence Law, I would love to do business with this company, to this day. Besides the minor issues of lack of NFC and microSD storage, my only complaint would be that the firmware was closed-source (as with almost all phones), so when I switched to LineageOS, I lost support for ANT (it was clearly disclosed as a known, unresolvable issue with LineageOS), which disabled VoLTE (4G phone calls). The phone continued to work using the standard circuit-switched fallback (CSFB) to 3G and I enjoyed 4G data rates and 3G phone calls (even dual RAB allowing data access during phone calls), as long as the carrier supported the 3G voice network. Understandably, though, AT&T is kicking the device off of their network as it prepares to sunset the old 3G network in favor of 5G. Sadly, I'll have to part with this 6 year old phone - not because it doesn't perform like a champ, but because my choice of OS doesn't support 4G phone calls. It was bound to happen, eventually. We had a good run, OP2.

I've used this phone almost from the release date. Since it got Lineage support, it's been a fantastic Android experience. I've replaced the battery with an aftermarket one a while back as it was getting to about just over a day of battery per charge, now it's back up to 2-3. It can't play any modern games but the rest of the experience of the phone is still snappy on Android 11. I've dropped it quite a few times over the years onto concrete etc and the screen has never cracked.

I will be using this phone till it breaks or my PinePhone gets daily driver usable (I'll probably still be using it for a while!).

For me, this is one of the best phones ever made.
