OnePlus One camera samples surface

15 April, 2014

The first camera samples taken with the OnePlus One are now available thanks to golden-hearted gal Kang Yi. She is the face of the Renmin University in China and has uploaded a bunch of photos taken with the upcoming OnePlus One smartphone.

She has done so on her Weibo account, where she has uploaded a couple of selfies, some night shots and closeups. Additionally, the phone's project chief Carl Pei has also outed a few indoor samples taken with a pre-production One unit.

Here are the samples in question. Note that all of them are taken with a pre-production OnePlus One, so we'll keep the analysis for when the retail unit becomes available.

The OnePlus One is officially boasting a 13MP Sony Exmor IMX214 camera with an f/2.0 aperture. It'll be able to record 4K video and slow-motion 720p @ 120fps clips. The OnePlus phone will feature Image Stabilization Plus (IS+), which "reduce noise and shakiness". The phone is also officially confirmed to sport a 5.5-inch 1080p JDI display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC.

The OnePlus One is having its official announcement next week on April 23. The company is adamant the One will sell unlocked for under $400/€400 when it comes out in Q2 of this year.

I disagree, but as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
