OnePlus X is now up for grabs in the US and Canada with an invite

After having been released in other parts of the world already, the OnePlus X is finally available to order in the US and Canada starting today. There's one huge caveat, though (and you might have seen this coming): you need an invite in order to purchase the phone.

OnePlus isn't giving up on its much-hated invite system, so this launch in North America will only be of interest to you if you've managed to secure an invite. Otherwise, you simply can't officially buy the device.

Now if you don't yet have an invite, you can put yourself onto OnePlus' reservation list and you'll be sent one at some point in the future, once it's your turn.

The OnePlus X costs $249 unlocked. It comes with a 5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and LED flash, an 8 MP selfie cam, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, dual-SIM functionality, 4G LTE, and a 2,525 mAh battery.
