Our Honor Play video review is up

Enrique, 19 September 2018

Gaming phones have recently made themselves a niche with the Razer Phone being the first gamer-oriented smartphone. Since then, there have been at least three more gamer-centric phones: the Xiaomi Black Shark, the Asus ROG phone, and the Nubia Red Magic, just to name a few.

Honor decided to take on these gaming phones by releasing a similar kind of device: the Honor Play. Honor packed Huawei’s Kirin 970 CPU along with Huawei’s GPU Turbo (which reallocates computing resources on the software level) for improving gaming and graphics performance.

Of course, the Honor Play doesn’t have rugged lines or a bulky body. But it does use a conventional metal-unibody design in a thin and slim package with a huge 6.3-inch notched display that won’t break the bank. Gaming phones have typically sat in a premium price range and the Honor Play goes for a mid-range price.

Watch our video review of the Honor Play to find out if it’s the right device for you. Likewise, you can read our full written review of the Honor Play here.
