The Pantech Slate with AT&T is an exceptional cellular phone. First of all, everyone who sees it asks me if it is the "latest Blackberry" which is pretty funny. It looks identical to a smart phone because of its shape, keypad, and large display.
The phone's system is very smooth, it is easy to go through the simple menu with no delay. This phone is one of the thinnest phones out there, and unlike the RAZR which set the standard for slim phones, the Pantech Slate is very solid and will not break.
The ringtones on the phone are loud and you can set the phone to vibrate and ring simultaneously. The display is very crisp, graphics look sharp on the phone, and I am very well pleased. The phone is really pretty basic but it is terrific for those of us who love to text. The QWERTY keypad buttons are nicely spaced and they rise above the phone making texting a smooth operation.
The battery life is so-so. If I play with my phone all day, I have to recharge it that night. If Pantech does make an extended battery for this phone, I think it would be a worthy investment.
The keypad on this phone is just fantastic. All of the buttons are raised in different ways so it minimizes the chance of pressing an incorrect key. The phone uses Edge instead of 3G, which may dissapoint some users, but the Edge on this phone works very well, it is at a decent speed.
The signal strength on this phone is very good, as it should be given its SAR rating of 1.24 W/kg which is a medium rating. (The FCC limit is 1.6 W/kg so this phone falls well below the limit).
Overall, I have to say that this phone is one of a kind and I am sure you will enjoy it immensely. It is probably the very best Pantech brand phone out there right now.

I have this phone. Some of these features are wrong, it DOES have card slot, lots of memory, bluetooth capability & MORE.

HHHmmm... Really odd! Low res display, 1.3 MP camera, no 3G, no card slot, no wi-fi, Blutooth V1.2 and no OS!!!!! What is this phone? a piece of s**t? Isn't Pantech done making cellphones? I think it's better for Pantech to go and make children's toys!!!

steve, 13 Nov 2008this thing is greathey i just got this phone and am still trying to figure it out. on here is says that it has T9, have you been able to find out if that is true? I can't seem to find the setting for it. Same with the media player.... If you can help that would be wonderful!

I love my Pantech Slate 530C. It is great. What a cool toy and great for the price as well. It have met and exceeded all of my needs and more in a phone

Oh my god... what is this! this is going to sell in the US, shame on Pantech... they made some good phones but this is crap....
Design: 3 (Bizarre design, the only thing that seems passable is the qwerty keypad anda that´s all, awful display size and resolution, big buttons but bizarre too, too big for what it has... no clean finish, not so good construction quality, god... i can gave only a 3 and that too much)
Features: 7 (Passable features, it has a decent 1.3mp camera that can be improved but still good, it has all connectivity covered like bluetooth and usb, edge and quad band gsm are nice, gps in board that seems the best this phone that can give... but it lacks wifi, and A MEMORY CARD SLOT...ONLY 20MB TO STORE EVERYTHING IN A PHONE LIKE THIS...GOD, WHY?)
Performance: 5 (Just a 5... it´s passable but in almost all lines the phone is horrible)
What Pantech has made is a shame... please Pantech you must gift this phone or not produce it... Evene US people want sometihng at least good...
Pantech Matrix is better....
