It's not a Philips phone. It's made in China (by "CECT" I think), with the name Philips. It will be named Philips for 3 or 4 more years from now.

Before, there was a bit of Philips in every phone: best example? the voice activated answer among other things. Now, it's the opposite...it looks like any other phone. From Blazing trails a few years ago, to just trailing everyone else.tsk tsk

is that a chineese made menu system on the screen god i hate that its ugly . so does that mean philips phones comes out as made in china products . like the crap chineese tv phones that are getting sold these days .

People remember, Philips quit the mobile phone market in 2006 when it sold it off to CEC (a chinese company) all the phones post 2006 are CEC phones with a philips badge stuck on. This agreement will run out in a few years time and hopefully someone in Eindhoven will realise that Philips, with their technical know how, can build awesome phones (xeniums battery show this) if only they backed themselves to this.

I am sorry for Philips, I want to see some great devices from them(I expect 5MP camera, Symbian OS 9.3, Wifi, GPS). But I think this is not going to happen, people be smart and choose the Sony Ericsson Satio, because is the only one 12MP smartphone!!! Believe me guys, I know what I said!

Philips is way behaind whith technology,they have the technology that Nokia,Sony Ericsson or Samsung had 2-3 years ago,and the phone looks a lot like Sony Ericsson G700...
