Realme 12 Pro+ review

Design and ergonomics

The new Realme 12 Pro+ brings rather subtle changes to the design compared to last year's model. The camera island is still circular but is more in line with Oppo Find N3's and OnePlus 12's luxury watch-like design. The camera module itself sticks out quite a bit.

The rest of the back remains rather unchanged - vegan leather that's really soft to the touch with a zipper-like strip in the middle. The leather finish helps with the grip, and the curved edges feel quite comfortable.

Speaking of the edges, they meet the side frame without forming any gaps or protrusions, and the whole device feels smooth to the touch. The level of craftsmanship is excellent.

The handset comes in three color variants - Submarine Blue, Navigator Beige and Explorer Red. We have the Submarine Blue paint job in our office.

The frontal design is business as usual, except for the curved display, which is also a rare find in the midrange segment. So, if you are into curved screens, the Realme 12 Pro+ is pretty much your only option for the price. Bezels are razor-thin, too.

The build quality and overall feel are definitely standout features for the Realme 12 Pro+. It feels secure, lightweight and thin in the hand - it's super easy to handle despite its size. And the added IP65 certification is a nice bonus, which last year's Realme 11 Pro+ didn't have.

Our only complaint is the positioning of the fingerprint reader. It's fast and responsive, but it's placed too close to the bottom edge of the screen, and it's a bit awkward to reach with your thumb when holding the phone normally.

hi all, seems that it shots in RAW only with primary camera an only at 1x, so non RAW in telephoto 3x or with primary at 2x? Does someone knows if it was "solved" with an update or if it's possible with GCam? Thanx for answering.

Yes, the resolution is 3 times as high, but the sensor crop of 3 times also only has 0.31μm² in surface area per pixel, while the 12pro+ has 0.49μm² per Pixel. You can also bin to 16MP and you have close to 1.96μm2 of surface per Pixel, ...

i don't see how you could call realme 12 pro+ photo dull.
