HTC One (M8) vs Sony Xperia Z2: Unsafe mode

Like for real...Like who even watches videos on phones, browses the internet, or uses them for their daily camera/camcorder....Heck...Who even makes calls on them....Oh wait....EVERYONE! Except SOME don't care about speakers....But then why get a dual speaker phone??? Why not get the one that is better in display and camera with only one speaker???

THe Z2 is overall the better phone. But this is HTC's area...Lately.
Z2 MIGHT have some nicer equalizers though.

You forgot to mention the fact you can connect a playstation dualshock 3 pad to the z2, turning the phone into a ps1 with the right apps - definitely a plus point

Also Sony Z2 has better build qualoty since in Drop Test (by Android Authority), Sony Z2's screen didnt crack or break whereas HTC M8's did crack...Also Sony has solved the lag problem that were usually seen in Sony phones. SONY Z2 is the best!

Sony wins, who uses speakers on their phone to listen to music? Ppl use bluetooth speakers or headphones. 5mp front facing camera is not a selling point. Waterproof, strong battery and bigger RAM importance can't be overstated. SONY Z2 ALL THE WAY.

First of all. What planet are you from????? Samsung abandoned oled tvs? The screen of the future? Something the have spent years and so much money on that is the next wave of display tech which they are leading in??

Next. Burn in is not common. And lcds get dead pixels and their own issues. As well as tend to be uneven with bright spots.

Just a slight correction. You wrote: "The top of the HTC One (M8) features an edge-to-edge IR blaster". Actually, the IR blaster is actually located inside the power button; the rest of the black part is just trim.

As an M8 owner, I can verify the photo quality issue with outdoor photos, but I should also note that there is some truth behind HTC's "Ultrapixel" marketing. The larger pixels *do* actually collect more light, and I have had great success in low light situations where other phone cameras fall apart. This higher sensitivity may be the cause of the HDR photos getting washed out and over-driven, but this is just a guess.

Perhaps it would be useful to do a "low light" test to find out how many ambient lumens are needed to take a photo without serious artifacts/snow.

For my purposes, I don't need a high pixel count; I don't print my photos, so it doesn't matter. The largest thing I view my photos on is my TV, which is a standard 1080p unit. 1920 x 1080 resolution is 2,073,600 pixels, or 2 megapixels. Others may have different needs, so they will choose something that works for them.

These are both fine phones, and were on my short list (along with the Samsung G5). The Z2 had not been released yet, and after witnessing OLED screen burn-in, as well as seeing Samsung abandon OLED TVs, I ended up with the HTC. LED technology (HTC, Sony, Apple) consumes more power, but doesn't burn in like OLED.
