1.What happens if the moto g 2014 phone falls in water?? How do I switch it off??

can somebody please help me. I tried to do the download for the system update for my Motorola RAZR droid XT 910 and it just keeps a Motorola error I have SAT there and rebooted my phone several times I went onto the internet and download iwhatt I need to do download to get to the newest upgrade of the Kit Kat or the jelly bean then when I reboot my phone and go ahead and transfer it from the SD card it aborts it. the previous owners had the upgrade on their phone but now it seems like I can't get the upgrade but I know it has the upgrade. if anyone can help me please email me at Nicoleshafto2@gmail.com. I have called Motorola and they seem to not be able to help me. can someone please help

I've had one Lenovo flagship and will not touch another Lenovo product for a long time. Poor quality, poor support, no updates for even glaring bugs....
Motorola made good products, but now that's in the hands of Lenovo, I wouldn't touch it either.

What I use on all my devices, including my amazing Moto G LTE, is Juice Defender. I have it configured to disable the data network (LTE, 3G, 2G) whenever the screen times out. You would be surprised how much it improves my battery life.

The review here on GSMArena is pretty accurate. In my opinion, the new Moto G will have a worse battery life because the bigger screen will drain more juice. The battery is the same in both devices, but the new Moto G screen is bigger and lower resolution. I'm not even considering getting the new Moto G because overall I think the Moto G LTE is still a better device.

I keep hearing the phone will be obsolete in the future. This is something to make people continuously buy new pap. I was using JB just fine up until a month ago.
If you have LTE it is not going to be obsolete. USB 2.0 the majority of of people are still using. If you need to transfer between different devices there is always Bluetooth, LTE, wi-fi direct and cloud storage like Cubby to do all of that for small files.

I think the moto x battery life can be extended if you disable all the active notifications, active displays, voice controls, and all the other sensor hardwares and apps..

Lenovo had done a remarkable job by retaining the Motorola identity unlike Microsoft. Very Nice line of new phones.

Which would be the best to get the Moto G LTE or the new Moto G? I don't really care about LTE, but I'm concerned if battery life in the new Moto G will be good since it's the same one as the one in the original.

I don't think Moto need to have those 3GB of ram like the bloatware Touchwiz or the highest CPU..Snapdragon 801 is good enough. keep the price low, and just make sure battery is big enough.

Since I just realized that the NEW Moto G is still ONLY $179, I am not as diappointed as in my earlier post. That price clearly hints to me that, like the 1st generation, Motorola will likely bring out another $219 version in a few months. The extra $40 WILL SEE LTE speed again and SHOULD offer greater 2600-3000 mAh battery capacity. Heck, they might even go Snapdragon 410 64 bit w/1.5GB of Ram.

This phone looks great and it's going to be hard to choose between it and the Nexus X.
I hope the four microphone noise cancellation makes it into the Nexus X. It's nice to see someone taking noise cancellation seriously, since it's been going backwards for a couple years (more and more companies using Qualcomm's medicore Fluence, instead of Audience's Earsmart chip).
On the other hand, no OIS, the camera sensor size is smaller than before, no 64 GB option. It doesn't seem like all the steps are forward.
And the 801 processor is not exactly cutting edge these days. The best of the current flagships have the 805 processor. The Galaxy S5 is several months old now and has the 805 processor. It seems like Motorola is still not serious about making a real flagship. Their strategy is to catch up to last year's flagships.
Similarly the new Moto X has 2 GB or RAM instead of 3. Still is using USB 2.0. Those are last years specs too.
I guess it lets them keep the price down on the phone and they try to make up for it with a good design. But it also means the phone will be obsolete that much sooner, necessitating a phone upgrade sooner (as they say, the cheapskate pays the most).

I liked moto x, looks promising. I don't have much use for 32 gb, not a dj or photographer.
Will see the benchmarks in the battery, that will decide.
