Motorola Nexus 6 review: Setting the tone

12 November 2014
Nexus 6 by Motorola marks a shift in market positioning for Google’s smartphone lineup. Whereas the duo of LG-made devices that precede it cut back on certain features to stay attractively priced, the Nexus 6 is ready to rub shoulders with...

If you are so concerned about speed,it takes 30 seconds to root the phone and you can get the most out of it.

Shocking video showing clearly the cheapest Motorola Moto E tags at $150 with very low specs being faster than the Galaxy S5 with high end specs and highly priced at $600 been beaten by a stock Android phone.

    Shame, shame, shame...

But before I even talk about other features let me tell you that only the water resistant makes the Nexus 6 better than the Note 4.

With everything you just listed down about the Note 4 once in the water you are done.

          1. Nexus 6 have better camera

          http://www.gsmarena.com/nexus_6_enters_dxomark_top_10_for_camera_performance-news-10205.php

          2. Nexus 6 have Lollipop out of the box.
          3. Nexus 6 will always be first to get the update.
          4. Nexus 6 have water-resistant.
          5. Nexus 6 run stock results for better experience with free ram while the Touchwiz UI eat up more ram and lagging.
          6. Nexus 6 much more easy to root
          7. Nexus 6 bigger screen for multimedia and browsing.
          8. Nexus 6 much more strong and durable.
          9. Nexus 6 have double flash light camera.
          10. Nexus 6 have double front speakers better sound
          11. Nexus 6 is cheaper $650 vs $750 for Note 4.
          12. Nexus 6 QI charging

For other specs like screen the Nexus 6 have 493ppi vs 515ppi, Camera 13 MP vs 16 MP for Note 4 still Nexus 6 results better, S Pen not for everyone, front camera 2 MP vs 3.2MP Note 4, Touchwiz UI very ugly and lagging.

Nexus 6 is clearly the winner.

Sorry Google, but the Note 4 is simply hands down a better device.

            - smaller, thinner, lighter
            - better battery
            - removable battery
            - SD slot
            - better camera
            - better screen
            - much more sensors
            - S Pen
            - superb multitasking with multi window and floating windows
            - one handed mode

The only two things going for Nexus are slightly larger screen surface and some water resistance

For sRGB that is ("Professional Photo" covers Adobe RGB which leads to oversaturation for sRGB content due to a too wide gamut).

Samsung makes the AMOLED panels for the Nexus 6. I believe the drivers need some serious tweaking for better efficiency, since I doubt the hardware used is that much different (other than a slight size increase) from what Samsung used in the Note 4.

Their problem lies with whoever makes the display panel for them. Either Samsung or LG or whoever is providing em, cause the panels are less efficient than Super AMOLEDS and i dont believe in burn in. I've used AMOLEDS a lot.

The brightness on the Nexus 6 may be lacking, the Note 4 in Auto mode achieves similar brightness as the iPhone 6 plus (>700 nits). Which combined with the much better contrast gives you great outdoor visibility.

There is no more brightness needed indoors and color accuracy is also at the top of the scale (again similar to or better than the iPhones), plus a better whitebalance calibration to boot.

And that last part is what matters. Calibration. The panels themselves allow for a much wider color gamut to start with. Once Adobe RGB becomes mainstream, these panels are ready, most others are not.
