Lenovo Vibe X3 hands-on: First look

08 February, 2016
A couple of years ago, Lenovo hardly had any phone presence outside of China. But in the meantime, the company has made some serious strides, particularly in price-sensitive markets where multiple well-priced models follow one after the other.

AnonD-213493, 09 Feb 2016The Camera is great, gsm just gone mad or been paid by some... moreThese guys do tend to say the opposite of what the pics clearly show but in the Vibe X3's case they seem to be correct. The details are just not there, finer details are all washed out, If you think they are nitpicking check out what the LG V10 can do then you'll realize the standards of smartphone snappers have gone up since 2015.

For the price though the shots are pretty decent but I've seen Moto X Play for example take better shots. Lenovo has been weak on the photo post-processing side for years now only Moto seems to be getting it right, maybe they need to borrow Moto's camera software tech outright and apply it across their portfolio but it might have something to do with how Moto brand has to be given preferential treatment to maintain it's edge. One way or another lenovo needs to improve the camera side of things.

3500 mah battery and all they could manage was 4-5 hours of SoT for a 1080p IPS screen?! That isn't impressive at all, that better be with aggressive shooting all day long with the camera and a lot of web browsing on LTE otherwise that's pretty awful battery life. Most likely poor ROM optimizations and this wouldn't news either been Lenovo's story for years as well.

Neither does the China website mention about quickcharge, then in most of the ad images they say 9018C2M, but in the specsheet they say 9018K2M.
And the genius that nobody could fathom is that they managed to send lossless audio over a proprietary 3.5mm jack, It wouldn't be a wonder if they sell a proprietary lossless headphones for this!!!

harish, 08 Feb 2016hi gsmarena team This phone does have fast charging....at ... moreHi. We tested the phone with two different Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 compatible chargers and the phone took the exact same time, that is, 2.5 hours to charge as it did with a standard 5V/2A charger. Also, the website for India does not mention QuickCharge anywhere. So from personal experience and lack of any proof in the marketing material proves that this phone indeed lacks QuickCharge support, most probably to keep the costs down.

The Camera is great, gsm just gone mad or been paid by some other company to say bad about this beast. And it does charge in 90 mins, c'mon gsm arena at least fully use the phone first before reviewing .. It is one of the best phone in the market right now
                Considering its low price
This phone Vibe X3 is the best phone out there in the market.. Just go for it guys and you won't regret it :)
A proud owner of it :D

That's what I am saying if they want to use stock go the Motorola way.
PS: Motorola does do some very little changes in stock android. It's only the nexus which gives absolutely pure vanilla android experience.

Been using Vibe X3 for 5 days. Previously I had HTC M8, HTC One M7.
This handset is awesome, considering the specs its high-mid range handset, the performance is awesome, slight lags rarely. Fingerprint scanner is fast enough. Camera is above average. front camera isnt wide angle, but clarity is good. Display is good, colors do over-saturate in sunlight but readability is awesome in bright environment. Looks and built quality is good, people usually ask me about the handset. Inbox headset is below average quality, better buy good headsets. Battery backup is almost twice than HTC M8 considering similar usage. Havent played high-end games yet, so cannot comment on gaming quality. Looks slightly larger than HTC M8, means pocketable. User interface is far better than older Vibe UI, looks like stock Android UI.
Now coming to the best part, Sound; magical, awesome, both on loudspeakers and headset, surround feel is almost realistic, very loud without noise or distortion.
Only drawback is that it doesnt have separate Memory card slot, you have to compromise on second SIM slot for memory card.
Go for it, no second thoughts..

                        Wrong choice Lenovo.....Sorry
Maybe this one is aiming to a new international market. Always like Lenovo to be different than the other with their own designs but this one doesn´t have anything new and reminds a lot the MOTO X Style. It´s halfway between the X Play and the X Style.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2016Good decision. Stoke UI.This ain't Stock UI. It's just that VIBE UI now looks more close to Stock. GSMArena has mentioned it right : If they want stock experience, better use it rather go the Moto way. All in all, it looks better then previous versions.

I was really surprised and knew there is something different this time when I saw the picture as it doesn't uses that hideous rounded square white background on Google Chrome and Whatsapp as appears in MIUI or Huawei's Emotion.
