But may i ask if you've seen a temperature or throttling test of the s7, or g5? So u can get an idea of what temperature it should be when playing higher-end games, sesecondly, the mi5 used was an underclocked 32gb 3gb ram version so he was definitely pushing the device to the limit. I am sure 64gb 3gb ram with the overclocked sd820 version fares better.

This is not a great buy in India. They are selling under clocked version only with 1.8Ghz processor and 3 GB RAM. Also, I checked on youtube that temperature could reach 45-50 degrees with gaming. I had ordered the phone but later cancelled it looking at the reviews and heating issues. I am a bit surprised that GSM Arena did not talk about heating issues.
PS: I am not Xiaomi hater. Would definitely be interested in the phone if Xiaomi fixed these issues and launched all models in India.

It does not have the basic feature in WhatsApp like setting up wallpaper for any chat...when Wallpaper option is clicked, it shows No Wallpaper.

Hi,
I received the phone on 11-Apr-2016 and I faced 2 major problems:
1. Mi Protect activation:
Multiple requests but no resolution yet
I received an email that said that I must contact on numbers given in the email if i dont receive an MI Protect activation sms. I didn't receive the sms, so, i called up on one of the customer care numbers given in the email. They said that it'll automatically activate in a 2-3 days. I went out of country for 1.5 -2 weeks, and I contacted them again on 27th Apr 16 but the activation still wasn't done. I emailed on the email id suggested with details and i still do NOT have a reply.
2. Phone Battery issue:
New mi5 phone battery doesn't last even a day
I started to use the phone fully after I came back; I put in the sim in the new mi5 phone for the first time on 25th Apr 16, and found that the battery doesnt even last for a full day with my normal use (like I did with my mi4i or nexus 5).
I contacted customer care and they suggested that the phone would be repaired. Why should a brand new phone be repaired. It must be replaced if it is found faulty but Mi customer care person insisted that wouldnt happen and just stopped replying.
This is frustrating. A person doesnt buy a new phone to find it is faulty and then see it getting repaired within 3 days of putting in the sim.
I really feel stuck here. I really used to advocate MI over apple but right now i dont think i was right atall.
Would someone please help here?

Check it out in the blog section - it's an absolute disgrace!

It's quite strange that although you describe the design and build quality as excellent, you put a 3.5 as a score in this section. For being a valid reviewer inconsistencies like that shouldn't exist, Am I right?

Poor is a mild way to describe the audio in the video recording if we hear the video sample provided here. I got to wonder if the voice recording is just as bad and if not then how soon can we see a fix coming? Otherwise, we simply cannot get this type of quality for such quality.
