I was hoping for a much greater improvement than this in battery life. Quite honestly they should take out the taptic engine and pressure-sensitive screen layer and use the saved weight and space for more battery. Those features seem pretty useless anyway.

Tested iPhone 7 at Apple store with my outdated Galaxy S6 camera. Still my S6 managed to produce better image quality and more detail too. Wasn't expecting for a 2 year old smartphone would beat a new one in terms of camera.

Too iterative. They took a leaf out of Sony's book apparently.

Next year they will probably give amoled, higher resolution, better battery life, better screen to body ratio with a bigger screen. And other stuff too maybe.

This year mainly appeals to people who want to upgrade, sales will probably fizzle imo.

LOL, i tought they meant Jack from Unbox Therapy. Nice title haha.

Hmm, whats this thing with the HTC 10 having a 5.2 inch AMOLED display? Its a Super LCD display and the Xiaomi MI5 shouldnt even be called here lol.

"The 4K videos carry a bitrate of around 47Mbps, but audio is subpar recorded in mono at 85Kbps in AAC format."
While some other phones can record stereo live performances at full volume with almost no distortion, iPhone is STILL stuck with mono? Better luck next time.

great review guys, good numbers on the scores (for those who cares) and i bet apple fans will like it (to say the least)
what i'm really curious about is those 2 other cores, if chipworks can't find it but ios surely can, it leaves room to speculate there might be something wrong in the software itself (call it cheating if it's actual dual core)
still good job as always so more competition is always welcomed ^_^

I will stick with my iPhone SE for the moment. Much better battery life than iPhone 7.

Chipwork couldn't find its other two cores and the obviously put it through its paces. Well that might be a problem if it has to do a heavy task and one core temporarily overheats so effectively theres only one core for a short period maybe just for a minute but what happens if the single core cant hold the load what happens

I almost totally agree with the "best phone of the year" comments... Except the highly restricted OS :/ I hope one day Google will also develop its own processor and GPU like Apple. I am an Android fan because of the highly customisable and opensource OS, but it lacks such hardware like the iPhones :(. And in my opinion only Google can fill this space, if they completly take controll over the developement of the Nexus (Pixel) phones.

All in all great phone, good to you iPhone fans! ;)

"An interesting point to be made is that on the surface these results may seem like what we got from last year's iPhone 6s. But you also have got to remember that due to the change of the battery testing methodology, we conducted the web browsing and video playback tests back then with a screen brightness of 150nits instead of the 200nits of brightness that we use now as standard. Hence, if screen brightness levels were to be equalized, it would become apparent that the new iPhone 7 indeed offers an improvement in battery life."

Late for water resistance but its there.
And its a gery powerful chip. Now we wait to see how cool it runs and for how long. Even throttled though it would offer great performance.

That battery life and capacity is pretty pathetic.Overall a fine device for the older people who can't get used to Android. Hit the road Jack !

So apart from the monster chipset and water resistance. The iphone 7 doesn't really offer any huge improvement over the 6S. Might as well wait for the 10th anniversary iphone. They clearly are holding some features back for thag release. See you next year, folks!
