Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 review: A hidden gem

06 October 2016
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has big shoes to fill - its predecessor became India's best selling phone online and enjoys great popularity in China. It comes barely half a year since the Note 3 went on sale, but it's not quite a direct replacement - instead both will live side by side, with the Note 4 as a more premium offering.

cool review as always, too bad it's China only for now... hard to get the hands on it in South America, still worth noticing the price is really good for the specs and i dun really mind the camera that much nor the video so i'm wishing it'll be available world wide sooner than later XD

they just underperform in low light.
but then there isn't any other phone in this price range that outperforms those cameras in low light. moto g4 plus have slightly better camera but then it misses out on other high performing options.

It ticks the boxes but with bigger 5.5 FHD screen and bigger battery 5,100 mAh. Not sure about the camera though, let's hope they improved it. Price range would be a tad higher.

Xiaomi keeps shooting itself in the foot in the process of making a perfect Redmi phone. This one ticks pretty much all the boxes for the ultimate budget phone, bar the camera. A good camera is one of the most sought out features these days, and yet Xiaomi keeps gimping the image quality. The Mi 4i from 2015 was a budget mid-ranger with an excellent camera. I keep looking forward to the day when a Redmi phone matches the image quality of the Mi 4i. Hopefully Redmi 4?

All I want in Redmi 4 is a 5" 1080p IPS display, Snapdragon 625, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB storage coupled with microSD slot, 13 MP rear camera that matches the image quality of Mi 4i, 5 MP front camera, 4100 mAh battery, fingerprint scanner.

Is the camera okay? Then, that GPU?
