You can't see the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 5inch phone if you hold it 12 inches away from your face ... which is where most people keep the phone.
I think you are the one who should see an eye doctor, most of us don't need to keep the screen as close to our face.
Also you completely missed my point. I didn't say that Redmi 4 does not load apps faster, what I said is that it does more of that. I'm an app tester, I know what I'm talking about, 1080p phones reload assets a lot more than 720p phone (like 1.5 times more). That's enough to offset the 600 Mhz difference, in fact it absolutely obliterates it as it reloads stuff only 67% of the time, giving it in practice anything between 50% to 100% more speed (depending on how many apps you use).

If such a test was run (the only one to simulate real life usage) Remdi 4 would be eaten *alive* by Redmi 3S ... all because people like you want to look at their phone at distances closer than 12 inches. You're a minority and you spoil it for the rest of us.
Redmi 4 is a bad phone and should finally be called for it.

I've used both devices and the 4 prime is snappier except for games. Of course resolution adds stress to ram, io and cpu but not as dramatically as you wrongly put it. And the 0.6ghz of extra cpu frequency (which is in practice even bigger of a difference because of the newer manufacturing process) can easily offset the resolution disadvantages - except for games of course where res is everything. You need to be an imbacile to go with the 3s prime if the price is the same. And if you can't see the diffrence between 720p and 1080p (which is big) then you should probably see an eye doctor.

Aside from the better camera and lighter weight, I don't see how the 3s is better than its newer and faster sibling.

At those prices there is really no other choice other than Xiaomi, everything else is endlessly inferior, a bit like your much more expensive phone too.

There a repent of reasons that phones of lower reolution are far snappier. One of them is the lower ram needs (just check the same app between a 720p and a 1080p phone).
Long story short, 3GB of RAM means much more apps in memory when running on a 720p phone than in a 1080p phone.
Actually Redmi 4 does feel slower in every day performance too because it has to reload assets more readily. Yes it is slightly faster in doing so, but it does much more of that.
Don't try to play it smart here, you're outclassed. Prime 4 is the slower phone all around, the one with the worse camera, and no proper LTE support in Europe. It's a shame that Xiaomi replaced all those with a mostly meaningless update that is not visible unless you put your eyes closer than most people.
Also Prime 4 manages to be slightly bigger too, with bigger bezels... What an unecessary release, I'm getting angered just by thinkING of it.

The quality of redmi 4 prime quite good for budget phone... I'm quite satisfy with this phone because it have long battery life and good performance, the battery run out after 4 days in my daily use because i'm not a heavy user.
So I recommended this phone for people who want good battery life and performance also for the cheaper price.

Gpu has eveything to do with resolution and as i mentioned (you probably didn't read) the 4 prime won't be as good at playing games.

Redmi3s can be found with official international rom +LTE band 20 (800Hz) enabled, essential in Europe
Redmi4s LTE has no B20

Also 720p to 1080p makes little difference at that small size. It's mostly a negative that they upped the resolution and the main reason that I find Redmi 4 a downgrade all around... The bad camera is merely the cherry on top ... stay away!

There is something off here, or I am missing something. The Redmi 3S gets 104h on the battery benchmark, but the Redmi 3S Prime gets only 85h. The 3S Prime has a Fingerprint sensor and more RAM and Stroage vs the 3S. There shoudn't be a 19h difference. Please correct me If I'm mistaken.
