Meizu M5 Note review: One, Two, Three, Five!

03 February 2017
Meizu's Note series were off to a great start with the m1 note. The m2 note did some upgrades in expense of a few features, while the m3 note turned out a worthy successor though it trailed behind the Xiaomi's mid-range crop. It's time for Meizu to freshen up its Note lineup again, and today we get our hands on the newly released M5 Note.

I've used this phone for about a year now, in the beginning I was somewhat satisfied, decent speed and battery. When compared to other smartphones , the camera is really bad. I completely gave up on taking photos as they were completely terrible, the battery lost 30% of it's capacity(dropped from 4000 mAh to about 2700 mAh), had to service it multiple times for problems with charging. My friend with the same phone and another one with M6 note had a lot of similar battery problems. Would not recommend , wish I had paid more for something else.

it was a good phone and worth the price until it upgraded to the 7.0 version. after upgrading it, performance went so poor i am regretting trusting this brand. phone suddenly shuts down. have to try few times to turn it on. and when it does, battery percentage will be at 0-1% (even if it is at 95% before it shuts down). it shuts down on its on it even if i am not using it.
will never try to consider this brand again.

Trust me, I have used Note 3 and the camera was complete garbage compared to Note 5. All in all, Note 5 is a solid phone but a far from perfect mid-ranger, it should have been 20 grams lighter and they should have thrown in helio P20 instead of the old P10.

Though this phone has same processor and nearly identical spec and even slightly lower capacity battery than M3 Note, this phone has higher battery endurance rating! Cool..

Kaloyan, 04 Feb 2017Hey guys, The battery endurance is on page 1, the audio ... moreHi Kaloyan Kolev/KyleK. This review format is pretty good, it has all the detailed tests and just skimps on the writing to save you time. You can't bring GSMArena's high-quality time-intensive review routine to every mid-range smartphone, right?

It's way better than the short format used for Asus Zenfone 3S Max review, which just had a lot of descriptive words but not much tests. But please do bring the full review for all flagships and premium/popular mid-rangers....

Hey gyus, are you planning on reviewing the regular Meizu M5 as well? Some of us still like practical-sized budget smartphones after all :)

                            Like the new format
Cause I usually only read introduction. Performance. Camera. And. Conclusion

This new format has made me read the whole review

this review is not good. like all average reviewers flooded in the internet. you aere something different from others because your review was the best of all.

i always read your reviews before buying a new one. and now you want to change that old gold format. no no.

the previous one was much much better than this.

and where is the redmi note 4 sd review. detailed review

                                    Hey guys,

The battery endurance is on page 1, the audio quality is on page 2. There is not a single test missing if you compare this short review format to our regular one. You just need to explore the three pages, they aren't that many after all, aren't they?

Anyway, we will never abandon our traditional reviews. We are going to use this short format for budget or mid-range phones, which didn't get much attention in our database, and yet we want to cover them for one reason or another.

Also, rest assured we are working hard on video reviews and they will become better and more regular. But as any other review feature or tool we've added to GSMArena over the years, we will either do it right and professional, or we won't do it at all. So just be a little more patient - the video reviews are going to happen on a regular basis, we are just working on the approach, presentation and format.

                                    Best,
                                    Kaloyan

It's on the first page of the review...
