LG G6 review: Cutting corners... Like a pro

16 March 2017
Cutting corners - it's the story of the LG G6's life. Literally - the smartphone's display doesn't end in right angles, it's soft arcs instead. Figuratively - the G6 isn't packing the absolute greatest hardware on the market.

I have read the LG G6 has a Gorilla Glass 4 at the back, 5 for camera. And, most interestingly, Gorilla Glass 3 in the front. That's why they actually needed the chamferd edges in the first place.

I wish this site would let us publish screenshots as I just ran 144439 on Antutu with my "out of date" STOCK LG G5... (It's ran as high as 148000 before)

And as for the brightness of the screen, this is the ONLY site I have seen complain about it. It's very legible in sunlight and other reviews have measured the phone getting over 600 nits on auto max brightness.

-56.3 stereo crosstalk when using headphones is very bad sound quality for a this expensive "flagship"!

extra features for corea only? alright why would i buy a phone from a racist company?
              i won't.

Camera is good but they should have made a 12+12 1/2.3 inch combo both with f1.8.

Why don't you put the Axon 7 beside the OnePlus 3T? It has more features and is even cheaper.

Good thorough review! The G6 seems like an alright smartphone. It may not be an out-and-out flagship like the V-series but it's definitely not as bad as the specs initially suggested.

''Performance is on par with the other Snapdragon 820/821 competition, with the slightly higher resolution of the G6 having a minor effect on onscreen graphics benchmarks. It's a dependable performer in both synthetic tests and real-life use.''

gsmarena where are the usual onscreen and offscreen benchmarks ?

Anonymous, 16 Mar 2017The big bezel is good looking? BTW the XZ P have 13MP for it front camera, it must be rich in detail compare to a mediocre 5MP camera.
Xiaomi Mi Max just like a giant toys, you can watch the drop test on YouTube why I call it a toys.

I too think xz p is a better phone.
Firstly u get to try some of the "industry firsts" with xz p.
Plus g6 has a mediocre camera setup at best, by flagship standards. And xz p is extremely promising wheb it comes to camera with the motion eye sensor imx 400 and super slomo....
Plus xz p has a better new generation SOC.
The display is debatable with the both but again g6 is gonna look wierd when playing media.
                                  Again, personal preference.

is it just me or does the backs of g5 and g6 look like surprised owls??
and for the record under a microscope a pentile matrix has less subpixels per pixel..but in real life the pixel is being shared..so there is no sacrifice in sharpness..i think..
