Hi,
I am interested in capturing true B&W images through a CMOS sensor without any bayer filters in RAW format while being capable of operating in manual mode.
I noticed that some phone while having a monochrome sensor do not allow to capture independant images (the B&W sensor works only in tandem with the RGB sensor).
Would the Honor8Pro fit my needs?
I am not sure as I read "Manual monochrome mode is not available, which is reserved only for the P series, but this is a silver lining we are happy to live with."
Could I use another camera app to capture B&W images in manual mode after all?
Would another phone fill my needs?

Its a really good phone for its price -
Pros -
1. Very Good rear camera which has a lot of features which people do not mention such as
3D Panorama, monochrome mode (night shots are amazing).
2. Kirin 960 is a very good processor its just below snapdragon 835 but better than 821.
3. The display quality is excellent.
4. The battery life is actually good. You can get screen on time of 5hrs 30mins to 8hrs
depending on usage.
5. EMUI is actually a good OS with nice added features and it also gives you the option of
using an app drawer (I really prefer an app drawer)
6. After updates there is now no heating problem whatsoever.
7. Audio Jack quality is very good.
8. It has the best auto brightness sensor i have ever seen. Really never needed to hassle
Cons-
1. Average front camera.
2. Not so good loudspeaker. (Its loud but not very crisp one)
Note - It also beats the snapdragon 821 (oneplus 3t) in every test except antutu...its an optimization issue.

Contrast and bright ration is very far than 8Pro.

Guys...
There is a huge lottery going on for storage in this phone...
review units are UFS2.1, but retail units are emmc (Way slower...)
Huwaei india has not came back to me on this....

Becoz it's qhd it's battery endurance is less and also I doubt for the future updates for Honor phones.

Amazing! I just discovered that this phone Honor v9 beat Galaxy S8 in spread text by far, snapdragon 835 vs hi-silicon kirin 960 wow! Samsung phone are amazing but generally slower than the Chinese phone like Huawei, Oneplus, and Xiaomi. This also have shape screen. Yes it also beat the Xiaomi mi 6 in speed which is also snapdragon 835.
