OnePlus 5 vs. iPhone 7 Plus vs. Samsung Galaxy S8: Flagships unfazed

28 June 2017
6 vs. 7. vs. 8 - which is more? In an attempt to determine just that, we're setting contender OnePlus 5 against defending champs, so to speak, like the iPhone 7 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S8.

The OnePlus 5 does not belong here, it is most certainly NOT a flagship device as the S8 and 7 Plus. It maybe a flagship compared to the other OnePlus handset but that's all.

Front camera video is missing from this review. OP5 could win with its EIS, a nice feature for vloggers.

Shalabh, 02 Jul 2017Does the new OP5 comes with the dash charger and ear phones? Yes Charger, no headphones. I'm going to buy OP5, and order new set of apple old 3.5 mm earphones (they are less penetrating and lasted 5 years, they are exceptionally good)

For price comparison, the galaxy s8 price of the dual SIM version should be the reference.

And of course the iPhone is no competitor there.

As to the lack of a uSD-slot, this is mitigated by 128GB of flash memory, and it helps to avoid having to pay license fees to Microsoft.

Nokia we know you can do better than this.

Being a copy op5 looks ugly compared to 7+

Artour, 30 Jun 2017Guess what? They just did -.-well, but the they declare them self as a "flagship killer" so i think the blame are not on the gsmarena. (not that i hate 1+ because i am 1+1 user and really love it)

Expensive flagships. I have no idea why the OnePlus never implement expansion storage while LG doesn't have an AMOLED display. The S8 is close to my ideal phone but I don't like the new aspect ratio and still the glass backs!

OnePlus 5 is a phone more suitable to be packed with Snapdragon 660.

it does literally nothing much. empty flagship.
what innovation it is supporting??? pushing the Snapdragon 835 sales volume?

They offer m... moreXenon flashes must have fairly large capacitors that are unacceptable for today`s slim phones, they charge pretty slowly (imagine waiting 3-5 seconds to take a picture these days), and they use a lot of juice from the already small batteries that are squeezed in phones these days. I had a LG Viewty phone with xenon flash back in 2008 - it really took amazing photos at that time, especially in total darkness, that no other phone could back then.

Just right - intuitive, straight forward and hassle-free. While I still use Andorid on daily basis as a developer and tester, and even when looking on amazing phones like Samsung S8, at the end of the day I still prefer the software+hardware experience that my iPhone 7 brings. And with upcoming iPhone 8 and iOS 11 this will be solidified for sure.

                                        My conclusion:
                                        1st OP5 - Perfect
                                        2nd S8 - Small view size
                                        3rd 7+ - Too big bezels & heavy
