If its about nokia, I'm more excited by amazon and their coming entrylevel to midrange flagship, nobody offers best device in style and technology for starting price. And I don't mean cheap flagship copyphone.

The flagship I'm most interested about is the new Xperia Compact. I want to see if we can still have a flagship in a small size.
In fact, I think you should make a poll: what is the upcoming flagship you would have, if you could have any of them (but only one)?

For example Apple with their magic are excusable for years of inferior products.. People still buy them.. For Nokia they are already more than 5 years late.. So waiting for a few months is nothing for the fans.. Even if they have bought another phone when the Nokia come out they will buy it and sell their existing phone.. This will not work with xiaomi huawei or other brands.. Only Nokia.. So take your time and make sure the phone is perfect before launching it with a BOOM

About the rants section...
1. I agree 100% with what Victor has said. Making good looking smartphones at the cost of their strength only adds to their fragility and just for the sake of gimmicky uniqueness ? Utterly stupid move by Samsung and also jeopardizes the practicality of the fingerprint scanner. A reboot to Note 4 , or even a budget variant of it with , say Snapdragon 820 , 4-6 GB RAM , IR Blaster and removable battery seems like a distant dream now. If you guys want IR on phones , buy the Chinese variety - Xiaomi , Huawei and their ilk , or maybe wait for LG V30. And I second keeping the 3.5 mm jack and energy-efficient mid-range chipsets.
2. I also agree with Chip's view regarding super-slim phones which are practically useless. Look at how Motorola fared with Moto Z. Or maybe it was just an excuse for selling the MotoMods and this year looks no different with Moto Z Force also shedding 750 mAh from its 3500 mAh pack to arrive at 2750 mAh. Around 8.5 mm thickness and at least 4,000-5,000 mAh is great for me. With their huge screens increasing the area , Samsung and Xiaomi have done this at about 7.5 mm.
3. With Ivan , I strike a chord at inclusion of stereo speakers in mid-range phones as a de-facto by now. No idea why that's still a niche feature exclusive to only HTC and Sony. BTW my Xperia XZs may have a generation older chip but its decibels are absolutely fine.

I really think the production delays are really going to cost the Nokia 8.
1. It is going to launch in August which already has Note 7 at the end , and iPhone 7S/8/10 Anniversary Edition will come by next month. This isn't really the quest for which smartphone is the best. It's a quest of who got there first and had a better chance at grabbing some market share , which Nokia has lost.
2. Even I was deeply disappointed after seeing Nokia employ Snapdragon 430 for Nokia 6. The expectations , the hype was huge. But I believe Nokia may be deciding to show off that they can perform with low-end hardware too. Just like they did with Windows Phone. And that's the only reason I'm letting them off for an inferior product that got a very late launch. But once the reviews and user experiences start coming out , it will be clear as to what was done with all this time.
And another defense to not using the famous and hugely successful Snapdragon 625 is that what did Lenovo / Motorola do with Moto G5 Plus ? How successful did that smartphone become ? What is the percentage share of that company ? How often have you seen someone hold a Motorola in someone's hands ? Xiaomi is different with its pricing.
3. Maybe , just maybe , if Nokia had decided to skip launch of flagship and maybe come next year with Snapdragon 836 would it be better or an already lost battle ? God knows.

It's disappointing that there's only one mention of Huawei. They may seem expensive compared to other flagships but I'm more than happy with my 10 Plus.

While some wonder whether to offer 2:1 screen, 2 cameras, and maybe even something more, other one comes with better OS, sensors, ''gears''... Phone is not just about specs anymore, maybe since iPhone came to be. Still, if company takes dip in some things seriously(like camera, own internal hw/sw, reliability, usefulness) or create new categories like watch, vr gear, 360 cameras, pen input, desktop like use, home&outdoor IOT products.... it moves people. Depends what matters to you more(camera,updates/ stability,useful apps/...) and what company's future you believe will satisfy you more. Therefore exist also people still waiting for surface phone, and it doesn't matter much for them what specs will it come with or what price will be, they know they will like it even before it comes. Specs are like part of wish that you expect, rest depends on company.

in past , Nokia was in every hand...because that models are most durable and repairable,so people putting trust on Nokia .if i am buying nokia model then future i will shell it with good resell value . so Nokia pls launch models as quick as possible but careful its repairable because " Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten ".

In the past, a company's flagship was the one that tried to cram all the absolute bleeding edge technology, tech nobody dared put in a phone. While they were massive risks for the companies that made them, these phones attempted to change the way we interacted with phones. Examples were:
-Nokia 7650
-the RAZR (please reboot those things a la 3310)
-Palm Treos and all those old BBs,
-the N95
-the iPhones and the O2s (yes those were cool for a time)
-the Galaxy Note,
(special mention to the Nokia 7280 - looks pretty, but was awful in every other way.)
In recent times, flagships have had to start carrying a second role - the cash cow. This was something the phones above (save for the iPhone), didn't always have to be. This creates a problem for the companies. Remember, having being an early adopter in tech meant that a phone was a beta test - more so today, with billions of features that can go wrong that nobody spotted in quality check. It's no surprise that companies are taking less risks, unless you are Apple or Samsung with lots of money to burn.
So I'm not too surprised that flagships today are more evolutionary than revolutionary. There is just too much to lose in taking risks.
And yes, profit was always the bottom line for these companies.
