Asus Zenfone 4 family hands-on

27 September 2017
Why bother fighting the sharks for attention at IFA when you can hold your own private event and have the spotlights all to yourself? That was Asus' line of thought, apparently, which brought us to Rome last week for the European launch of the Zenfone 4. Or rather, the Zenfone 4s. Yes, because there are quite a lot of them.

It looks like an S6, and I want an S6 I'll get an S6 - at least Samsung's stuff has more of a reputation.

I like all of them. The flagship Zenfone 4 Pro is mighty impressive as is the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, which probably has the best selfie camera on a smartphone right now.

why why why nobody make compact phones. there are 4 options here, but all are gigantic! not to mention the bezels.

Taiwanese mobile phone makers have serious problem in reducing the thickness of the bezel

ASUS's smartphones are ok, is just that their ZenUI is ugly, not all consumers will like the ZenUI. It doesn't feel materialistic, even for the settings they made it too plain simple it makes it feel like it is not material designed. One thing about their software ESPECIALLY is the notification icons. The battery icon especially, big, too squarish. I hope they can seriously improve the software, it feels very heavy and bloatware definitely present inside, ASUS ZenFone smartphones are good, but their ZenUI is a little disppointing, it doesn't have the light materialistic feel

Too much bloatware that cannot be uninstalled. They are shutting their useless Zencircle network down and yet users cannot uninstall the useless app, made more useless when the network is gone. How can a social media app that no one uses be system software??? Thanks to them screwing with the system, the rest of the phone is full of problem.

If only they would make 1080p screens as the default on all models... also they should reduce their UI bloatware and bring back AptX.

Too many Phones at one time. That's why OnePlus is better deal for people. They make one at a time. But that one is classy...

Asus phones are rubbish! Asus screws around with the OS/UI and cram so much crapware into the phone that it is not stable. Worse still, every time they update it, they break more stuff. Look on the Asus forums, cameras get broken (not focusing), charging get broken (cannot charge with phone on), Bluetooth gets broken (cannot enter PIN), and so on. They will take a working phone at launch and destroy it with "updates". They can break the phones OTA but they cannot fix it or undo it OTA, forcing users to bring it in to service centres.
